New Japan Pro Wrestling announced today that Kazuchika Okada, Kota Ibushi, Tetsuya Naito, and Jay White will be part of the G1 Climax Tournament’s opening day event. The 29th tournament will begin on July 6 in Dallas, Texas at American Airlines Center. Read the official announcement at NJPW1972.com.
Powell’s POV: Those names should not surprise anyone, but it’s nice to have them confirmed for the event. AXS TV will be broadcasting the Dallas event live on July 6, meaning I will be doing live coverage that night. The remainder of the tournament should be available on the New Japan World streaming service.
