Matt Hardy announced via social media that his lower back and pelvis have started fusing together. He theorized that the issue was caused by performing top rope leg drops. Follow him online at Twitter.com/MATTHARDYBRAND.
Powell’s POV: While there’s no way of knowing definitively that the move caused the injury, it’s worth noting that Hulk Hogan had multiple back surgeries and it’s widely assumed that his running leg drop finisher was a factor. So if a regular leg drop is damaging, then obviously a top rope leg drop is even more so. This is the reason that I not a fan of Fandango adding the top rope leg drop to his regular moveset. Here’s wishing Hardy the best with this situation. It’s worth noting that he worked the weekend house shows.
On a lighter note, today is Matt’s wife Reby Hardy’s 32nd birthday. I was not aware of it when I put the list together for this morning’s Dot Net Daily, but I did go back and added her to the birthday list.
This maneuver was called EVENT OMEGA..
And is most likely the reason that I’ve recently learned that my lower back & pelvis have started fusing together. pic.twitter.com/FzYebvIIc0
