WWE Live Event
Cedar Park, Texas at HEB Center
Report by Dot Net reader Cody Masters
The HEB Center was approximately 70 percent full. The front row ticket price was $80 each.
A.J. Styles was advertised to be here but was not. Considering the news of the potential injury, I’m assume this is why.
1. Bobby Roode defeated Jinder Mahal and Baron Corbin. Roode was super over. Mahal got lots of heat, but not the good kind. He was just booed without really doing anything to deserve it.
2. Breezeango and Zack Ryder defeated Primo Colon, Mike Bennett, and Mojo Rawley. Primo came out solo. Breezeango got biggest pop. Mojo got no reaction and played up the field with Ryder like it was something anyone still cared about.
3. Dolph Ziggler defeated Sin Cara. Okay. Get ready for this… Sin Cara had the biggest pop of the night so far, and I already know the next two matches results. Huge ovation and chants. He still does the “Lucha Lucha” gestures. After losing, he got solo time in the ring to soak up the acclaim. No one knew if they should boo or cheer Dolph. No record scratch, but he still came out to no music at first. He played up both face and heel moments during the match. At one point, my girlfriend asked if he was a good or bad guy, so that pretty much sums it all up. There were LOTS of false finishes. They really gave Cara some big spots in this match and let him look like he might actually win several times.
4. The Usos defeated Rusev & Aiden English and Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable. The Usos got biggest pop of everyone here. There were some Rusev Day chants, but not anywhere near what I expected. He played up a heel role pretty big throughout the match though.
5. Bludgeon Brothers defeated The Ascension. Exactly what you’d expect out of this match. Erick Rowan is a BIG dude. Random, only at house shoe moment, after the match was over Luke Harper started taking all the turnbuckle pads off and throwing them at the ref and timekeeper.
6. Charlotte defeated Ruby Riott via DQ in a Smackdown Women’s Championship match. The crowd had fun with this one. Riott Squad went after crowd in a big way. Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan interfered after about 5 minutes, bringing out Becky Lynch and Naomi. Lynch challenged Riott Squad to a six woman tag match.
7. Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, and Naomi defeated The Riott Squad. Charlotte got the biggest pop, but the fans were super behind Becky throughout the match. Even though her timing was off at times, Morgan played the heel role better than either of her partners.
8. Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Street Fight. Owens had a lot of fun heeling off against rowdy crowd members. Orton got a bigger pop than Nakamura. Orton looked like he barely cared and hardly sold chair shots. He just stared and chewed his gum obnoxiously. Owens and Zayn were full-blown BFF’s again and kissed each other on the cheek and giving back massages throughout the match.
