William Regal announced via Twitter that WWE does not have a tournament booked for Latin America (read his full tweet below).
Powell’s POV: Regal’s comments are in response to a report from a lucha libre website that claims WWE is planning a tournament that would be held this summer in Latin America. Apparently, the idea is that the tournament would be similar to the Mae Young Classic, UK Championship tournament, and the WWE Cruiserweight Classic tournaments. Regal’s denial is very firm, but it will be interesting to see how the company follows up on their previous tournaments.
