The following matches are advertised for the WWE Payback event that will be held on April 30 in San Jose, California at SAP Center.
-Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt in a House of Horrors match for the WWE Championship.
-Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho for the U.S. Championship.
-Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus and Cesaro for the Raw Tag Titles.
-Neville vs. Austin Aries for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
Powell’s POV: Yes, a Raw show headlined by a match for Smackdown’s top title. It may seem even stranger if they end up moving Kevin Owens and the U.S. Championship to Smackdown tonight as expected. Obviously, the explanation will be that the inter-brand matches were booked prior to the Superstar Shakeup. It also gives the show a top title match even though Brock Lesnar is not expected to defend his championship. All signs point to Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman being added to this event, perhaps with the winner facing Lesnar for the title on a future event.
