WWE has announced that Rick Rude (Richard Rood) is the latest member of their Hall of Fame. Rude joins Kurt Angle, Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, Teddy Long, Dallas Page, and Beth Phoenix as the entrants in the Class of 2017.

Powell’s POV: The late Rick Rude is an overdue addition to the Hall of Fame. It’s great to see him finally get the recognition. It will be interesting to see who delivers his induction speech and who accepts on his behalf. His family was contacted a while back about the induction, so I assume they will be involved in some fashion. Paul Heyman, who has spoken very highly of Rude over the years, would be a great choice for the induction speech, but WWE may have another idea.

Update: WWE announced that Ricky Steamboat will deliver the induction speech.
