styles2AJ Styles spoke with Brian Fritz of BetweenTheRopes.com and was asked about no longer being on the same brand as Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. “I think it’s an opportunity for them to do something special and an opportunity for me,” Styles said. “And who knows what the reasoning is for the draft and going different ways like we did, but we’re going to make the best of it. It was shocking because I didn’t see that coming, it literally came out of nowhere. I’m not sad about it. They’re going to do their thing, I’m going to do mine, and we’ll meet up later.”

Styles was also asked about Kenny Omega winning the G1 Climax Tournament for New Japan Pro Wrestling. “I think Kenny was always capable of doing this,” he said. “I don’t know if they didn’t see it at the time or maybe the group was so big that we were in that was hard to see how great Kenny was. I’m so proud of him. I texted him and let him know how proud I was of him.” Watch the full video at Youtube.com/watch?v=7FfSlUlDGEk.

Powell’s POV: I’m curious to see if we get any type of interaction between Styles and his former Club members tonight since they will all be at SummerSlam. Styles also admitted to marking out when he saw Bill Goldberg, his favorite WWE moment and why it will be tough to top, whether he owns a Y2AJ t-shirt, and more.
