shane1Pete Gas (a/k/a Pete Gasparino) of the Mean Street Posse spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News and spoke about concerns over the quality of the Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania. “Everyone is talking about two ‘older guys’ in the ring and that Shane isn’t going to be able to do the kind of stuff he’s done before” People don’t realize — Shane’s nuts. Shane is really nuts. Shane will put it all out on the line. It’s WrestleMania and enough said with that. I always say this about Shane: I defy anybody to pick one match that Shane McMahon was involved in and you said, ‘That match sucked. That match was OK.’ Then turn around and say how many times was Shane McMahon in a match that there was something memorable about it or Shane stole the show again tonight? More often than not, you’re saying that Shane brought it and Shane stole the show.”

Pete was also asked about the chances of getting the call to be part of the Shane McMahon vs. Undertaker match at WrestleMania 32. “I don’t expect it.” Gas said. “When Shane came back, a lot of people were looking forward to the Mean Street Posse. I got calls from everyone, from guys I used to wrestle to fans; everyone is looking for an answer, like we’re coming back. I don’t have the answer to that. Shane is going to be so busy that week. I don’t think I’ll even get a chance to see him. We’ll catch up when we both get back in New York. If he asks, of course I’ll do it. He knows I’ll come running. You never say never in this business but from my conversation with him . . . Shane had a long career after us. For years, he wrestled without the Mean Street Posse.” Read the full interview at SportingNews.com.

Powell’s POV: Pete may have been shooting straight when he said he didn’t expect to get the call. Keep in mind, though, that it’s the same thing he would say if he were going to make a surprise appearance. Pete also spoke about being approached about appearing with Shane on television the first time and being surprised that he was paid to do it. Pete also spoke about how Shane kayfabed him on his surprise return to Raw on the day of the show.
