1/26 WWE Main Event TV taping spoilers

Dot Net reader Robbie Jordan is at the WWE Smackdown television taping in Tampa, Florida at Amalie Arena and is sending the following updates on the WWE Main Event television taping. Refresh the page for his latest updates.

1. Mark Henry defeated Tyler Breeze. This may have been a dark match. Henry actually sold for Breeze early on but won clean with the World’s Strongest Slam in 3-4 minutes. There was a loud “You Can’t Wrestle” chant when Breeze was on offense which was weird.

2. Kevin Owens beat Jack Swagger. Owens came out first to a loud response. He was still selling the Last Man Standing match and his left arm is heavily taped. Solid back and forth action. Swagger’s “We The People” yell is still over…which Owens mocked at one point (Funny). There were “USA” & “Fight Owens Fight” chants at different points. Owens won went for the Popup Powerbomb at the 14 minute mark, which Swagger counter/rolled in to an ankle lock. Lots of near falls at the end, but Owens won clean with the pop up powerbomb in about 16 minutes. Good match.

3. The Dudley Boyz beat The Ascension. The Dudleys got a good pop for their entrance. Standard tag match. The Dudleys won clean with the 3D in about five minutes.

They did a backstage interview with Rusev and Lana. He said getting power bombed through a table on Raw had no effect because he’s a super athlete and then trashed talked Ryback. He also spoke something in Bulgarian(?) too…Lana closed the promo with, “Rusev will crush.”

4. Rusev (w/Lana) defeated Ryback. Rusev’s entrance got a minimal reaction and Ryback’s wasn’t much better. There were some audible “Feed Me More” chants during the match though. The guys in the section next to me tried getting a “Lets Go Rusev” chant started to no avail. There were plenty of cat calls for Lana during the match. There was a spot late where Rusev was on the apron trying to suplex Ryback to the outside. They went back and forth about five times with Ryback eventually suplexing Rusev back in to the ring.

An average match between two big guys and it took a while to get the crowd in to it. Ryback went for Shellshocked at the 12 minute mark but Lana distracted him and slapped him while the ref tended to Rusev. Rusev won with The Accolade at the 14-15 minute mark. Rusev got the Bulgarian flag with his face on it displayed to celebrate and end the Main Event tapings.
