NJPW voice Walker Stewart announces his next career move includes some AEW work

Walker Stewart is staying with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Stewart took to social media on Monday to announce he signed an extension with NJPW, while adding that he will do some additional work for AEW.

“I’m happy to announce that I’ve signed an extension of my contract with NJPW,” Stewart wrote. “I’ve been very lucky to watch NJPW continue to grow and improve upon itself year after year since my debut with the company in 2023, and I am very lucky to continue my journey waving the lionmark banner.

“If you’re a fan of American wrestling, I’m also happy to report that I will be making limited appearances with All Elite Wrestling, with a few appearances confirmed for the rest of 2026 and more to come in 2027.” Check out his full statement via his Twitter/X page.

Powell’s POV: The 24-year-old Stewart has quickly made a name for himself. He started calling independent wrestling shows in 2021. He called his first NJPW show in late 2023 and seems to improve every time I hear him. He sat in on commentary for AEW Collision earlier this month, and also works for the Stardom promotion. He described his Japan work as full-time, while adding that he works for AEW “in a per-appearance capacity.” Best of all, no one from the AEW broadcast team has stated on the air that he needs to shower more (poor Chris Charlton). All kidding aside, Stewart has a very bright future in the pro wrestling business.
