This looks like a generic convention center ballroom; I’ve seen them run shows from here before. The lights were on, so it’s easy to see. This room was packed with maybe 350 fans. I really dislike this announce team, so I turned down the volume.

1. The Summer Rumble. The winner joins a five-way in the main event. Luckily, we have on-screen graphics so I can get names! El Futuro (who wears Canadian white-and-red and a mask) drew No. 1; he wrestled on the last Maple Leaf Pro taping. Rajan Husher, with scary black-and-white face paint, drew No. 2. “The Intern” drew No. 3. The pizza crust spinning Primo Luigi drew No. 4; I admittedly am not a fan. The Intern was tossed. Matty Z (he looks a lot like a thinner MJF) was No. 5 at 6:00. No. 6 was also “The Intern.” He has a different outfit on.

A chubby guy with “Freddie” on his butt was No. 7; he didn’t get a graphic. He tossed the Intern. Even though he was out, The Intern jumped up and eliminated Freddie. This has honestly been pretty ugly so far. We have four in the ring. Masha Slamovich was No. 8 at 12:00; she’s only sporadically wrestled in the past year due to some controversy you can read about elsewhere. She hit kicks on each of the four guys and was the only person standing. Joe Jobber was No. 9; where are they getting these guys? He’s chubby and doesn’t look like much of a wrestler. Masha tossed Jobber at 14:30! That was quick. I see five in the ring.

Cody Uno Ocho, with long blond hair, was No. 10. Cody knocked everyone down. “The Bronze Icons” Bryce Hansen & Johny Deluca entered together at No. 11 & No. 12. They slammed Cody and celebrated. Their manager was also in the ring, but I don’t think he was in the match. Hansen tossed Cody at 20:00. Matty Z was tossed. Derwin Jackson, a big, muscular Black man, drew No. 13. He has some size to him, and he hit a double clothesline on DeLuca and Hansen. I saw him on the June show I reviewed. Derwin tossed the manager. Derwin tossed Masha at 24:00.

Two chubby masked Medicos, in black medical scrubs, entered as No. 14 and No. 15. I am seeing eight guys in the ring. The Medicos hit a team chokeslam on Derwin. The Medicos eliminated Bryce and DelucaA Medico eliminated someone. The massive Beastman drew No. 16 at 29:00. Beastman tossed Primo Luiji. Beastman hit a Sky High powerbomb on Derwin and a Black Hole Slam on a Medico. Beastman hit a rolling cannonball in the corner on a few guys. Matt Burns drew No. 17 at 31:30; I said this last time I saw him, but his whole look makes me think of former WWF wrestler Damian Demento. He traded blows with Beastman.

I see six in the ring. Burns tossed Beastman! Seleziya Sparks was No. 18 (and our second woman) at 35:00. Abu, her manager, also got in the ring, so he’s No. 19. Seleziya hit a headscissors takedown on a Medico. A Medico was tossed. The cowgirl Sydney West got in the ring; she’s No. 20. I saw her wrestle Notorious Mimi earlier this year in nearby Greektown Wrestling. Burns and Derwin fought away from the ring; they have NOT been eliminated.

Sparks tossed Cindy West. A Medico tossed Abu, then he tossed Sparks. Derwin and Matt Burns got back into the ring, but then they got tossed. We were suddenly down to El Reverso (who drew No. 1) and the massive Medico. The Medico flipped Reverso over the ropes, but he held on. Reverso tossed the Medico to win the match after entering at No. 1! Again, he has to wrestle in the main event!

El Reverso won a 20-entrant (16 men, three women) Summer Rumble at 43:18. (Again, The Intern had two slots).

2. Katrina Creed vs. Zoey Skye. I’ve seen the evil redhead Creed a few times in C*4 Wrestling, and she’s made a couple treks to Wrestling Open in Massachusetts, but this might be just the second match I’ve seen her in this year. Zoey is short with long blonde hair that’s almost white; she’s had ROH/AEW matches before. Zoey hit a flying forearm into the corner. Creed planted her foot in Zoey’s throat. She hit a snap suplex for a nearfall at 2:00.

Katrina hit a running knee to Zoey’s chest for a nearfall. Zoey hit a clothesline at 4:00 and was fired up. Creed hit a spear for a nearfall. They fought to the floor. Zoey leapt off the apron and onto Creed on the floor. In the ring, Zoey went for a Lungblower to the back, but Katrina held onto the ref’s shirt and avoided it! Creed immediately hit a discus clothesline for the somewhat tainted pin. Okay match.

Katrina Creed defeated Zoey Skye at 7:36.

3. Marko Stunt vs. Joey Janela. This is a rematch from a GCW show just a week earlier. They circled each other in the ring; Stunt crawled through Joey’s legs to avoid locking up. Joey rolled to the floor in frustration. They finally locked up at 1:30, and Janela slammed him to the mat and celebrated. Stunt hit a flying shoulder tackle that dropped Joey. They shook hands, but then Joey hit a knee lift to the gut. Stunt hit a huracanrana and a dropkick into the corner at 5:30. He dove through the ropes and barreled onto Janela.

They fought at ringside. They got back into the ring, and Joey was in charge. He sat Marko in a chair and repeatedly punched him. Marko hit a dropkick as Joey was seated in a chair at 8:30. Joey hit a powerbomb for a nearfall. Joey went for a Boston Crab at 11:30, but Stunt fought free. Joey hit a powerbomb and a sliding clothesline for a nearfall. They fought on the apron, and Stunt slammed him onto the apron then hit a running flip dive to the floor, turning it into a huracanrana. In the ring, Mark hit a bulldog for a nearfall at 13:30.

Stunt tried to lift Joey, but Janela blocked it and easily swatted Stunt away. Stunt went for a top-rope crossbody block, but Joey caught him. Joey applied a deep Boston Crab and sat down on Marko’s lower back for added pressure at 16:00, but Stunt eventually reached the ropes. Marko hit a top-rope swinging neckbreaker at 17:30 for a nearfall. They got up and traded punches. They traded rollups, and Janela hit a wheelbarrow German Suplex for a nearfall at 19:30. Joey’s eyes bugged out in disbelief he didn’t win there.

Marko hit a DDT. They fought on the ropes, and Janela hit a superplex and a Michinoku Driver for a nearfall. Janela missed a top-rope moonsault. Marko scooped him up and nailed a DVD for a nearfall at 22:00. He went for a Sliced Bread out of the corner, but Joey blocked it, and suddenly they were both down. They got up and traded forearm strikes. Joey threw him like a lawn dart to snake-eyes him in the corner, but Stunt hit a Poison Rana. Marko hit a top-rope 450 Splash for a nearfall. Joey slammed him to the mat for a nearfall at 26:00.

Janela missed a top-rope double stomp. Marko hit a tornado DDT for a nearfall. Joey hit a piledriver for a nearfall. He rolled out of the ring and got a ladder and slid it back into the ring. They fought near the top of the ladder. Stunt hit a crossbody block off the ladder onto Joey, then he used the ladder to launch and hit a Sliced Bread. He stood on the very top of the ladder and hit a frog splash onto Joey for the pin! Unnecessarily long, but it was entertaining.

Marko Stunt defeated Joey Janela at 29:46.

4. Gringo Loco vs. El Reverso vs. Junior Benito vs. MaCrae Martin vs. Briyante for the Lucha Premier Title. Loco, the champion, came out first. Benito and MaCrae are regular Fresh Air teammates. Briyante wore a green mask and green pants. (I checked his cagematch.net bio and I see he wrestled on Gringo Loco’s Las Vegas lucha show, so I did see him there.) Reverso came out last but was selling pain in his ribs. They all shook hands, but then Fresh Air kicked the others, sending them to the floor! Macrae and Benito shook hands and traded reversals and rollups.

Briyante hit a flying kick on Reverso. Loco and Briyante locked up at 2:00. Briyante hit a huracanrana on Loco, and a standing moonsault on Martin. Loco hit a handspring back elbow. He hit his split-legged moonsault on Briyante for a nearfall at 5:30. They did a Tower of Doom spot, and everyone was down at 7:00. Benito hit swats on everyone’s butts. He hit a Blue Thunder Bomb on Martin. Loco hit a Flatliner on Reverso. Briyante hit a Code Red on Loco. Macrae hit a fallaway slam on Briyante at 9:00.

Martin dove through the ropes onto his teammate Benito! Reverso hit a corner moonsault onto both of them. Loco hit a top-rope Spanish Fly on Briyante, then a flip dive to the floor onto everyone else at 10:30. Several guys fought on the floor; Benito hit a flip dive over the ring post onto all of them. Briyante got on the stage and got the crowd fired up before he finally dove onto Loco and hit a huracanrana at 13:00. In the ring, Briyante hit a tornado DDT on Loco.

In the ring, Benito hit a 450 Splash onto Briyante, but Reverso hit a moonsault onto Benito. Loco and Revero fought in the corner. Loco hit a powerbomb and a Styles Clash for a nearfall, but Martin made the save at 15:30. Martin hit a leaping DDT on Loco! He hit his Spider Kick on Benito for a believable nearfall! Briyante hit a springboard Canadian Destroyer on Martin at 17:00. Loco nailed the second-rope Base Bomb (twisting powerbomb)on Briyante for the pin. That was a blast.

Gringo Loco defeated El Reverso, Junior Benito, Macrae Martin, and Briyante to retain the Lucha Premier Title at 17:39.

Final thoughts: Definitely go watch the main event. That was a really fun five-way. I didn’t recall having seen Briyante on that lucha show over Vegas weekend, but there were several new luchadors on that show. A really fun five-way, including watching Martin and Benito sometimes working together, but also taking each other on.

The rest of the show? Yeah, I guess it’s skippable. Janela-Stunt was fun enough, but Joey seems to have a goal of being in the longest match on every show. That match should have been 15 minutes, not seconds shy of 30. The Rumble? When I scrolled through it the other night and saw Masha was in it, I opted to watch it. Oof, the Rumble had some ugly spots with several guys who looked barely trained in there. Definitely not in the top half of Rumbles I’ve seen in 2026.

Yes, I always call for cutting out intergender matches and replacing them with a women’s match … and that’s definitely the case here. Masha could have gone up against a young up-and-comer like Sydney West and had a really good match with her. (I see West competed at the Maple Leaf Pro tapings in matches that haven’t aired yet.) Masha-West would have been a far better role for both of them than being small cogs in a Rumble for a few seconds each.
