CM Punk reportedly takes part in WWE Backstage studio show meetings

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

CM Punk was in Los Angeles this week to meet for a potential role on the forthcoming WWE Backstage studio series that will air weekly on FS1. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reports that Punk and Renee Young did some on-camera test material together. The story also noted that Taz, Paige, Rey Mysterio, and Sean Waltman are also up for potential roles.

Powell’s POV: This would be an interesting way for Punk to be involved in pro wrestling without actually getting back in the ring. WWE announced this week that Young and Booker T will be regular personalities on the one-hour show, which will have a special preview on Tuesday night, October 15. The series will remain air Tuesday nights at 10CT/11ET once it begins its weekly run on November 5.
