WWE Live Event
Hartford, Connecticut at XL Center
Report by Dot Net reader Chris Gotay

Mixed Raw and Smackdown crew at the XL Center. The top sections were mostly curtained off but the crowd filled in the lower levels nicely.

1. Rey Mysterio and Jeff Hardy over Randy Orton and Andrade “Cien” Almas. A fun spot when Orton got on his knees to square off against short little Rey. Rey won with the 619 and frog splash on Almas.

2. Asuka and Carmella over “The Iiconics” Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. The Iiconics did their pre-match thing with the mic. Asuka won with the Asuka Lock on Peyton.

3. “The Bar” Sheamus and Cesaro over “New Day” Big E and Kofi Kingston. Sheamus won with the roll up on Big E after Kofi did a dive on the floor. Kofi gets quite the distance on the pancake frisbee style.

Dolph Ziggler came out and talks about how Braun Strowman betrayed him and Drew McIntyre, and he’d tell him to his face if Braun was there. He added this now satisfies his appearance fee and he’s out of Hartford. Cue Braun’s music.

4. Braun Strowman over Dolph Ziggler. Strowman made quick work of Dolph.

5. Becky Lynch over Charlotte to retain the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Good back and forth action but nothing special. Becky really tried to heel it up without a lot of success. After the match, the referee came to move Charlotte along after so many selfies with fans.

6. Rusev (w/Lana) over Aiden English. Lana slapped English, then Rusev performed the Machka kick and Accolade.

7. Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax over Alexa Bliss and Mickie James. The heels worked over Nia some before the hot tag and Ronda, who won with the armbar on Alexa.

8. AJ Styles over Daniel Bryan and Shinsuke Nakamura in a Triple Threat match to retain the WWE Championship. AJ won with the Styles Clash on Shinsuke. Afterward, AJ and Bryan did the handshake respect thing.

Notes: I was surprised to see Ronda on a house show, especially since she was not advertised in the weeks leading up to the show. She seems to eat up the crowd adulation A lot of selling for Evolution and not a peep about Crown Jewel.

Most Over
1. Ronda Rousey
2. Braun Strowman
3. Rey Mysterio, especially with little kids.

Most Heat
1. Aiden English
2. Iiconics
3. Dolph Ziggler
