Thursday’s Impact Wrestling television drew 212,000 total viewers on Pop TV, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The number was up from the 210,000 viewers the show accumulated the previous week.

Powell’s POV: Another lousy number for Impact. There was only one NFL preseason game on last night and it delivered 6.520 million viewers for FOX. Things won’t get any easier for Impact with the first game of the regular season to air opposite Impact in two weeks. Last year, Impact Wrestling produced 296,000 viewers for the August 24 edition.

  1. Why do you keep posting this? Hundreds of thousands of people “cut the cord” ages ago. Who cares about terristrial cable T.V. anymore? Is this 1998? Is WCW Thunder on?

    • Because it’s still meaningful. Yes, things have changed and its not the only metric, but it’s still one that carries weight within the television and advertising worlds. For that matter, the wrestling companies still care about it. The last time the Impact numbers dropped off I heard from someone in the company who spoke of how they needed to increase that number. So while it may not be of interest to you, it is still relevant to the people who actually work for the company. TV executives are very aware that the metrics have changed and they account for that, but viewership is still important to them.

  2. thanks for the info
