NXT wrestler Adam Cole spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News and was asked about being paired with Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly as the Undisputed Era. “Me, Bobby, and Kyle have talked about this before,” Cole said. “For some reason, the three of us never put into our brains that they were going to put us together. We had no idea what we were going to do but there was never a point where any one of us said ‘hey, maybe they’ll the three of us together.’ When they did, we were stoked. So excited. Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly are seriously like brothers to me. I’ve known those guys for years.

“I’m about as close, personal friends with them as you can get with anyone. When they decided they were going to throw us all together, I was like this is amazing. We were immediately stoked about it just because being able to share pressure with someone, being able to ping pong ideas with someone creatively, being able to share success or to share cool moments and cool opportunities with your really, really good friends.”

Cole also looked back on his NXT debut in Brooklyn, New York. ” For me, it was definitely a mixed bag of emotions,” he recalled. “Obviously, very excited. New York, specifically, has been very good to me throughout my wrestling career. I’ve gotten to do a lot of cool things in New York. The biggest thing going through my brain was that I just really, really hoped the people care. I remember thinking I’m coming out and attacking the NXT Champion at the end of the show and standing in the middle of the ring. I really hope the people care. That they know who I am. All these thoughts are going through your brain.

“To be able to come out and feel the buzz and see people pointing and people screaming ‘oh my god, he’s here’ was such a cool moment for me. It’s certainly top three definitely favorite moments for me in my career so far. That was really exciting. Then with me capping it off walking up the ramp and looking at the people and doing ‘Adam Cole BayBay’ for the first time in WWE and everybody doing it with me was really cool. That was when I was like “OK, let’s go, time to go to work.” Read the full interview at SportingNews.com.

Powell’s POV: Cole went on to say that he had no idea fans were chanting for him in Brooklyn before he appeared. It’s a cool story in which he talks about having family and longtime friends such as Kevin Owens in the building for his big debut. Cole also spoke about being part of the WWE/NXT machine, more on being paired with Fish and O’Reilly, and being billed for double duty at NXT Takeover: New Orleans.

Please note Brian Fritz will join me for the annual WrestleMania Sunday Brunch with Brian” on Sunday morning, which is available exclusively to Dot Net Members.
