Ronda Rousey says she won’t be in the WWE Royal Rumble match

By Jason Powell, Prowrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

UFC legend Ronda Rousey says she will not be in Sunday’s WWE Women’s Royal Rumble match. “I’m actually leaving to Colombia right now to finish shooting ‘Mile 22’ and won’t be back until mid February,” Rousey told TMZ.com. Rousey added that she and WWE do not have a contract in place.

Powell’s POV: This is exactly what I’d expect Rousey to say even if she had a deal and was planning to appear in the Rumble match. That said, the movie starring Mark Wahlberg and John Malkovich is legitimately happening. Could Rousey hop a flight and appear for WWE on Sunday and then return to Columbia? Sure. Should be looking at Wahlberg as a potential men’s Royal Rumble match entrant? A claim was made that he knows a guy who knows a guy, but both of those guys denied knowing the imprisoned first guy. All kidding aside, join me for live coverage of the Royal Rumble on Sunday.
