NXT TV Taping
Orlando, Florida at Amway Center
Report by Dot Net reader Dylan Maharrey

Ring introductions for the announcers took place. Middling reaction for Tom Philips, a decent amount of boos for Percy Watson, and a huge pop for Nigel McGuinnues. If the arena looks empty on NXT, it’s because it was. People were still filing in, but they tried to fill the hard camera side first.

1. Heavy Machinery beat The Bollywood Boyz in 3:20. Heavy Machinery is really fun in the ring. The Bollywood Boyz are less fun. Heavy Machinery won with a slam that had one member jump on the other’s back before both of them slammed one of the Boyz.

2. Peyton Royce (w/Billie Kay) beat Aliyah in 2:39. Both ladies got a decent response from the crowd, with a decent amount of cheers for Royce. Peyton went over with a Perfect Plex. I think both women have improved since seeing them in West Palm last summer. Aliyah has some potential to be decent in the future.

3. Oney Lorcan beat El Vagabundo (Elias Samson). The crowd had fun with this. Vagabundo heeled on the crowd before the match started. Oney Lorcan got the win with the blockbuster in 4:42. Don’t read too much into crowd reaction. I think they were just playing along with the bit. Sampson was escorted out by a female security guard. The crowd enjoyed that. I have a feeling the crowd response will be a bit “doctored” in post. They booed Lorcan heavily once Samson came out.

A missable episode of NXT, but it’s more focused on Takeover recaps anyway, so I didn’t expect much more than that anyway.
