WrestleMania 34 host city made official, press conference planned

The host city for WrestleMania 34 is a familiar location for WWE. The Mercedes-Benz Superdome, which hosted WrestleMania 30, will play host to WrestleMania 34 on April 8, 2018, according to NOLA.com. “New Orleans and the local organizing committee did an exceptional job of hosting the WWE Universe in 2014, and that was a major factor in our decision making process in 2018,” WWE’s executive vice president of special events John Saboor stated. Powell’s POV: The NOLA story notes that Vince McMahon is expected to appear at a press conference on Tuesday morning along with city and state officials to make the official announcement. There has been a lot of talk about WWE taking more of a rotational approach between roughly five cities. It’s unclear whether the quick return to New Orleans is an indicator of the company shifting to that approach or not.
