Logo_TNA_dn_600TNA granted contractual releases to Bobby Roode and Eric Young on Saturday. The company issued the following statement on their departures: “Impact Wrestling has come to terms on the release of veteran wrestlers Bobby Roode and Eric Young (Jeremy Fritz). Bobby and Eric have been valuable members of The Impact Roster since 2004 and we wish them nothing but the best in their careers going forward.” Read more at ImpactWrestling.com.

Powell’s POV: The TNA website story has quotes from both wrestlers regarding their departures that include them thanking the company for their 12-year runs. Likewise, TNA executive John Gaburick is also quoted. Both men worked the Impact Wrestling television tapings in Orlando this week and finished their runs with the company on Saturday night. The TNA website story hypes their final matches on TNA television for the coming weeks. These are certainly newsworthy departures given that Roode entered the tapings as a TNA Tag Champion along with James Storm, and Young entered as the King of the Mountain Champion.

  1. Wow. Actually shocking. Two true TNA loyalists abruptly leave, both when they were reigning champions. Makes you wonder if there’s something going on behind the scenes that we don’t know about yet

  2. I’m curious to know if these twos are WWE bound now? Roode has the style that WWE wants to do, so I’m sure he will be on the main roster right away or soon after. Eric Young on the other hand probably will stay in the Indies.

  3. It was way past time for them to move on to something else. Eric Young had done just about every role imaginable there. Roode definitely has need a change.

Now,hopefully,TNA can elevate 2 other guys.
