Mickie James spoke with John Canton about being added to the WWE Main Event broadcast team in a story posted on her website. “I was surprised WWE offered me the opportunity but very excited to jump on board,” James said. “It’s good to be back on the road with the crew and to call matches of Superstars you don’t always get to see on the main broadcasts.”
James also said she has no idea who she will be working with going forward. “I haven’t heard yet who I’m going to be working with next, but I’m sure it’ll be a fun environment,” she added. “I’ve done a few guest commentary spots, but this was so different. I’m thankful for my team (Vic Joseph and Dio Maddin) to help dip my toes on a whole different side of the spectrum. They’re so incredibly talented and I can’t wait to watch them on Raw. I’m super excited about this. I think it can aid in my growth as a superstar in the company.” Read the full story at MickieJames.com.
Powell’s POV: James debuted on the most recent edition of WWE Main Event. With Joseph and Maddin being promoted to Raw, she will likely have different broadcast partners when the show is taped tonight prior to Raw. James is currently sidelined from working in the ring while she recovers from ACL surgery, so the company is definitely making good use of her in the meantime and perhaps beyond.
