Jim Ross on Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Sami Zayn, WrestleMania into WWE Raw, the Wyatt Family

Ross on Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Sami Zayn: “Nakamura vs Sami Zane was fabulous especially considered that they had no issue and it was two fan favorites who were in the match. Terrific! I see no reason that both of these men in this match shouldn’t be major players in WWE if the stars are aligned properly for them.”

Powell’s POV: I see no reason why that match shouldn’t headline a future WrestleMania. Well, other than the big obstacle known as Vince McMahon. Triple H released a photo of Vince watching that very NXT Takeover: Dallas match, so hopefully he enjoyed what he saw as much as the rest of us. It was truly special and worth the $9.99 investment in WWE Network alone.

Ross on WrestleMania into WWE Raw: “For those who were squealing like a pig under gate over some of the finishes/creative including AJ Styles losing and the “destruction” of the Wyatt Family by The Rock and John Cena, just as I said Sunday night on Twitter let’s wait until Raw and see how those two matters are addressed and it seemed that both were addressed well at least to my own satisfaction.”

Powell’s POV: I was content with Styles losing the very competitive match because it was the best match he and Chris Jericho have had and it left me wanting to see more from them. Instead, we’re getting Styles vs. Roman Reigns, though some readers are predicting that Jericho could be added to that mix. Either way, it was a good Monday night for Styles.

Ross on the Wyatt Family as babyfaces: “Fans at Raw seemed to jump a the chance to cheer for the Wyatt Family especially Bray Wyatt who is a major, character babyface waiting to explode. I’ve been feeling that one for months.”

Powell’s POV: JR really did call this one. I was apprehensive because I was hopeful that WWE would finally get Wyatt’s heel persona right. I think they left some money on the table over the last couple years, but I’m all for the babyface turn since he’s been spinning his wheels as a heel for far too long.
