ROH Notes: Summer Supercard matches, Matt Taven must fly solo during title matches, Villain Enterprises defending the ROH Six-Man Tag Titles at Best in the World

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

The following are among the notables from the latest “Eck Files” blog by Kevin Eck that can be read in full at ROHWrestling.com.

-Nick Aldis will defend the NWA Championship and there will be a CMLL trios match at the Summer Supercard event in Toronto on August 9.

-ROH Champion Matt Taven is no longer allowed to have TK O’Ryan and Vinny Marseglia at ringside during his title matches.

-Marty Scurll, PCO, and Brody King will defend the ROH Six-Man Tag Titles against challengers to be determined at the ROH Best in the World pay-per-view on June 28.

-“The Allure” trio of Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, and Mandy Leon will make their ROH in-ring debut at the State of the Art events this weekend.

Powell’s POV: The ROH website typically includes a lot of match announcements for various shows, so this version of Eck’s blog is a nice summary of some of the company’s bigger news items that could otherwise end up lost in the shuffle. I love the announcement of Taven flying solo during his title defenses. O’Ryan and Marseglia helping him would have grown tiresome quickly, and if he is booked to win clean rather than with their help it will provide a nice credibility boost for him as ROH Champion.
