Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (Episode 40)
Taped on October 24, 2026, in Mexico City, Mexico, at Gimnasio Olimpico
Streamed October 31, 2026, on Fox in Latin America and on the WWE YouTube Channel
Corey Graves, Rey Mysterio, and JBL provided commentary. Because I attended a college hockey game, I unfortunately didn’t watch this live, which meant I had to suffer through the YouTube commercial breaks every 2.5 minutes. This product is borderline unwatchable with all these breaks.
* The show opened with a video package; I suffered through two commercial breaks during the video package. We then saw wrestlers arriving at the building.
* Laredo Kid came to the ring with his title belt over his shoulder. He was not dressed to wrestle. He told the crowd to be quiet because he was about to speak. (Rey provided English translation.) The crowd loudly booed Laredo Kid as he boasted about his title run. He created his own legacy; he didn’t need a family member to help get him here! He’s here to take another title, and no one can stop him! However, Jack Cartwheel attacked him!
Jack spoke in Spanish, saying, “It’s my time now!” He also wants the cruiserweight title. Takuma jumped in the ring and attacked Cartwheel! Takuma got on the mic and said he also wants a title shot. Laredo Kid attacked Takuma. Rey Fenix emerged from the back, also not dressed to wrestle, with his belt over his shoulder. He challenged them all!
* Backstage, Psycho Clown confronted Pagano. However, Carnicero snuck up from behind and beat up Psycho Clown.
1. El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno vs. “Los Vipers” Taurus and Histeria for the AAA Tag Team Titles. Wagner and the (much smaller) Histeria opened. Wagner hit a Mafia Kick for a nearfall. Galeno slammed his older (and smaller) brother onto Histeria, and Galeno got a nearfall. Taurus entered and hit a senton on Wagner. Histeria hit a spin kick and got a nearfall on Wagner at 2:30. He hit a Lungblower to the chest, and Taurus got a nearfall.
Wagner hit a flying forearm on Taurus. Galeno got a hot tag at 4:30, and he hit shoulder tackles on each opponent. “He’s the younger brother; he’s not the smaller brother!” JBL said. He hit a flying splash to the mat onto Histeria for a nearfall. Galeno flipped Taurus to the floor. Wagner hit a flip dive to the floor onto Taurus. Meanwhile, Galeno hit a suplex on Histeria. Wagner hit a Michinoku Driver. Galeno hit a massive frog splash to pin Histeria. “Someone get a spatula and get Los Vipers out of the ring!” JBL said.
El Hijo De Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno defeated “Los Vipers” Taurus and Histeria to retain the AAA Tag Team Titles at 6:27.
2. El Carnicero and Pagano vs. Dave the Clown and Murder Clown. Pagano slapped Carnicero to fire him up! Pagano and Murder Clown opened. Dave (smaller, in blue gear) entered and hit a sideslam on Pagano. Pagano hit a running neckbreaker on Dave at 1:30. Carnicero entered, and he threw Dave into the top turnbuckle and hit repeated punches. He hit a double clothesline at 3:00. [C] (I stop the stopwatch, as this wasn’t airing live.)
Back from the break, the heels were stomping on Murder Clown in their corner. Murder Clown hit a Samoan Drop, and he tagged in Dave. Dave tried an Irish Whip, but he couldn’t budge Carnicero. Carnicero hit a flying forearm that dropped Dave. Murder Clown hit a DDT on Carnicero, then a frog splash for a nearfall at 5:00. Carnicero hit a choke slam to pin Dave the Clown.
El Carnicero and Pagano defeated Dave the Clown and Murder Clown at 5:31 (of what was shown.)
* Psycho Clown came to the ring, limping, but holding a kendo stick, and he whipped the heels with it. The heels eventually took control, and Pagano hit an Air Raid Crash on Psycho Clown.
3. Rey Fenix vs. Takuma vs. Jack Cartwheel vs. Laredo Kid in a four-way for the AAA Cruiserweight Title. Laredo hit a double clothesline at the bell, then he traded forearm strikes with Fenix. Rey dropped Takuma with a shoulder tackle. Takuma hit a tornado DDT for a nearfall on Rey. Jack and Laredo Kid traded chops. Laredo hit a Michinoku Driver, dropping Jack awkwardly. He hit a top-rope 450 Splash onto two guys, but Rey made the save. Jack got a huracanrana on Rey for a nearfall at 3:00. Jack hit his slingshot senton on Fenix for a nearfall.
Rey hit a Lethal Injection on Takuma at 4:30. Rey hit a flip dive through the ropes and barreled onto Laredo Kid. In the ring. Rey hit a flying kick in the corner on Laredo Kid. Fenix hit a springboard twisting dive onto Takuma and Jack on the floor. In the ring, Laredo Kid hit a frog splash on Fenix for a nearfall at 6:00. Jack and Takuma traded loud chops. Takuma hit a Lungblower to the back for a nearfall. Jack hit a headscissors takedown on Takuma, then a Poison Rana for a nearfall! Jack missed a top-rope corkscrew splash. Rey hit an Angel’s Wings faceplant on Cartwheel for a nearfall at 8:00, and they were all down.
Takuma hit a Crucifix Driver on Fenix. Takuma hit a springboard moonsault onto Fenix on the floor. In the ring, Jack hit the top-rope corkscrew splash onto Laredo Kid for a nearfall, but Takuma made the save. Rey hit a Swanton Bomb. Fenix hit a frog splash on Takuma for a believable nearfall at 9:30. Jack hit a German Suplex on Fenix, then a Sasake Special dive to the floor on Laredo Kid. He went to the top rope, but Takuma pushed Jack to the floor. However, Fenix hit the Mexican Muscle Buster on Takuma for the pin. Every bit as awesome as expected.
Rey Fenix defeated Takuma, Jack Cartwheel, and Laredo Kid in a four-way to retain the AAA Cruiserweight Title at 11:07.
Final Thoughts: All three matches were fine but had predictable outcomes. All four guys in that cruiserweight match dazzled. I am still shaking my head over Hank and Tank beating Galeno and Wagner. Galeno is such a beast, and I’ve been high on his potential for years.
The usual complaints about this show being overstuffed with commercials, particularly the YouTube ads you can’t skip.
