Excalibur, Paul Wight, and Tony Schiavone checked in from their broadcast table. Ring announcer Arkady Aura delivered the introductions for the opening match…

1. Megan Bayne and Lena Kross vs. Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Blue reached over the top rope and pulled Bayne over from the apron with a suplex in the ring before a picture-in-picture break. [C]

Late in the match, Kross took out Blue with a knee strike, and then Bayne tossed Blue out of the ring. Bane and Kross performed a double chokeslam on Hart, and then Kross pinned her…

Powell’s POV: I can’t say much about the match because I had a technical issue while trying to order the pay-per-view. I caught the basics, but I’ll have to watch this one again at some point.

The Callis Family team made their entrance while their opponents were in the ring…

2. Josh Alexander, Wardlow, and Jake Doyle (w/Trent Beretta, Rocky Romero) vs. Alex Breeze, Papi D, and Rhys Maddox. Alexander’s teammates stood on the floor and encouraged him to start the match on his own. Alexander entered the ring and got the better of the enhancement trio. His teammates joined in. Wardlow powerbombed all three opponents. With all three opponents down, Alexander put his foot on one and got the three count…

Josh Alexander, Wardlow, and Jake Doyle beat Alex Breeze, Papi D, and Rhys Maddox in 2:45.

Powell’s POV: I wish they had started with this all-out squash match while I was dealing with AI customer service bullshit.

A video spotlighted Jon Moxley vs. Mark Davis for the AEW National Championship… [C]

3. Jay White, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly (w/Willow Nightingale) vs. Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kidd, David Finlay, and Clark Connors (w/Marina Shafir). All of the entrances were televised. Schiavone said Tony Khan informed him that White was medically cleared to wrestle moments earlier.

White performed a Giant Swing on Cassidy while the crowd counted the revolutions until it went on so long that they stopped counting (based on the countdown clock for the pay-per-view, Castagnoli performed the Giant Swing on Cassidy for roughly 70 seconds). Castagnoli finally released Cassidy, and Castagnoli looked dizzy going into the PIP break. [C]

They did a sequence with the wrestlers from both teams taking turns hitting big moves, which included Willow cutting off Shafir’s interference. The Gunns set up for their finisher, but Shafir pulled Austin to the floor. Castagnoli hit Colten with a running uppercut and then launched Yuta from the top rope into a splash, which resulted in Yuta getting the three count.

Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, Gabe Kidd, David Finlay, and Clark Connors beat Jay White, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly in 11:00.

The teams fought after the match until the Death Riders and Dogs hopped over the barricade to make their exit…

Powell’s POV: This was fine, but I wish they had stuck with the two matches that were originally advertised for the pre-show, and given all the time after the women’s match to the Motor City Machine Guns vs. FTR.

A video package spotlighted the Clockwork Carnage match, with Schiavone reading the rules… [C] A brief video set up the best-of-five series, and then entrances for the match took place…

4. “The Motor City Machine Guns” Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin vs. “FTR” Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler (w/Stokely Hathaway) in the first match of a best-of-five series. Wight played up the importance of the first match in a series, providing the winning team with momentum. The match started with roughly ten minutes and 30 seconds remaining in the pre-show.
