Metroplex Wrestling (MPX) “Who Runs The World 4”
September 18, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, at Southwest Community Center
Available for purchase via MyAEW.com

This entire show is comprised of women’s matches. Several of the top women across the U.S. indy scene are here!

* Emily Mae introduced the show. Three women in black jackets with metal studs, looking like 1980s glam rockers, came up and vented about not having matches. One of them vowed they would “make a statement tonight.”

* To the venue! This is a gym with a really high ceiling. Lighting was good, and the crowd was maybe 350. A cage, with the large metal bars, had already been erected. (It’s not the mesh fencing like in a yard.) Athena came out with her ROH Women’s Title belt over her shoulder, and she thanked everyone for attending. Emily Mae and Allison Danger provided commentary.

1. Charity King vs. Nyla Rose in a cage match. A wrestler can win by escaping the cage. Lame. (No one should ever win a match by literally running away from their opponent.) They immediately brawled, and King threw Rose into the cage wall. Rose was in charge early on. Rose stomped on her and kept her grounded. Rose tried to climb out of the cage at 4:00, but King pulled Nyla down and hit a sliding clothesline for a nearfall. Rose hit a Dragonscrew Legwhip at 7:30. They traded forearm strikes.

Rose hit an enzuigiri, but Charity hit a German Suplex. Rose fired back with a German Suplex, and they were both down at 10:00. Nyla repeatedly slammed the back of Charity’s head into the mat and was booed. They both fought on the ropes, and Charity knocked Rose down to the mat at 12:00. Rose hit a Death Valley Driver for a nearfall. Charity nailed a top-rope crossbody block at 14:00, but she was selling a knee injury upon landing.

The commentators wondered if she could continue. A Black woman named Zarena appeared at ringside and unlocked the door, and she urged Charity to escape. However, Zarena slammed the cage door in Charity’s face! Rose immediately hit a sit-out powerbomb for the tainted pin. Good brawl. Zarena and Nyla continued to beat down Charity until Danni Bee ran into the ring to help beat up the heels. Charity and Danni hugged, and the crowd cheered.

Nyla Rose defeated Charity King at 15:20.

* A vignette that announced Ashlyn Alexander is coming to MPX!

* Nikki Storm appeared with Emily Mae on the stage and said it’s an honor to be in the main event. (They clearly were killing some time while taking down the cage.) Vert Vixen confronted her and was indignant about Nikki boasting about all the places where she’s competed.

2. Zara Zakher vs. Laynie Luck. I’m not sure if these two have ever met! Zara was in WWE ID class 1.0 but left before Laynie got her ID contract. Some quick reversals at the bell. The commentators confirmed this is a first-time-ever meeting. Zara hit a basement dropkick at 1:30. She backed Laynie against the ropes and hit some chops, then a huracanrana and a second-rope crossbody block. On the floor, Laynie nailed a superkick! They got back into the ring, and Laynie was in charge. She hit a suplex out of the corner for a nearfall at 3:30.

Zara hit an enzuigiri, and she nailed a spinebsuter for a nearfall. Laynie got her up for a DVD, but Zara escaped and hit a Code Red for a nearfall at 6:00. This crowd was hot! Laynie hit a clothesline and her double stomp to the chest on the apron. She rolled Zara into the ring and got a nearfall. Zara hit a German Suplex, but Laynie hit one at 8:00, and they were both down. Zara went for her backflip-into-a-stunner, but Laynie hit a side kick to block it. Laynie immediately nailed a Death Valley Driver for the pin. That was really good.

Laynie Luck defeated Zara Zakher at 8:47.

3. Anarkid Ash vs. “Lady Bird” Monica Monroe for the American Joshi-Pro Title. Ash, looking like a scarier version of Asuka, came out first; she has ghostly white makeup. I’ve only seen her maybe two or three times before. Monroe is a heel here, and the fans booed her as she walked to the ring. They tied up, and it appears Monroe is two inches taller. Monica walked across Ash’s back, and that earned some boos! Ash hit a back suplex at 2:00. She hit a running knee to the side of the head, so Monroe rolled to the floor to regroup. Ash set up for a dive, but Monroe cut her off with a forearm strike.

They brawled on the floor, with Monroe in charge. Monica got a nearfall in the ring. She hit a shotgun dropkick into the corner for a nearfall at 4:00. She hit a Magic Screw twisting neckbreaker out of the ropes for a nearfall at 5:30. Monica went to the top rope, but Anarkid met her on top and hit a top-rope superplex, and they were both down. Ash hit a pair of running crossbody blocks, and she threw Monroe into the ropes and hit a running buttbump, then a running kick to the jaw at 7:30!

Ash finally hit the dive through the ropes onto Monroe. In the ring, Anarkid hit a spinning back fist and a modified Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall, but Monroe grabbed the ropes. The crowd booed that. Monroe raked the eyes and hit a DVD, but she missed her Swanton Bomb! Anarkid immediately tied up Monroe’s legs, leaned back for added pressure, and scored the flash pin! Good action.

Anarkid Ash defeated “Lady Bird” Monica Monroe to retain the American Joshi-Pro Title at 9:32.

4. “The Bad Bitch Brawl.” Looks like we’re having a big elimination match!! Mackenzie Morgan entered first. Amira entered second. Looks like everyone is getting a full intro. Also entering, in order, were: Lili La Pescadita Ruiz, “HollyHood” Haley J, Abadon, Taniya, Rachel Armstrong, Jane Nero, Super P, and Dani Mo. Nero is a European star, so this was a surprise. I haven’t seen Taniya or the superhero Super P before. Taniya is a thin Black woman, and she is the only participant who doesn’t have a cagematch.net bio yet. Super P’s bio shows she has competed in the Philippines and Thailand! Athena introduced the participants, and she said the winner will become No. 1 contender!

Haley got on the mic. Everyone jumped her, and we’re underway! Allison Danger said this was only supposed to be a five-way, but it just doubled in size with all of Athena’s surprises. Ruiz hit a delayed vertical suplex on Taniya. Morgan dropkicked Ruiz. Abadon hit a running knee on Morgan at 1:30. Dani bodyslammed Abadon, then hit a Vader Bomb for a nearfall. Amira hit a German Suplex on Dani, then a rolling cannonball. The masked Super P hit a top-rope dive onto everyone on the floor. However, in the ring, Haley J hit a Power Slap to Super P’s face and pinned her at 3:10! Nero grabbed a kendo stick and struck several women across their ribs.

Morgan slammed Nero and pinned her at 4:19. That was disappointingly short. Dani Mo hit a top-rope crossbody block to pin Morgan at 4:33. Ruiz was flipped through a door on the floor! It doesn’t appear she’s eliminated, though. Amira hit a double powerbomb out of the corner. Rachel hit a 450 Splash on Taniya to score a pin at 6:12. Haley J distracted Rachel! Abadon hit a Sister Abigail and pinned Rachel at 6:46. Abadon and Amira traded forearm strikes. Abadon hit a double stunner.

Some music played, and Fire & Fury (the 1980s rockers from the top of the show) ran in and attacked Abadon, then bailed to the floor. Abadon sat up and glared at them. However, Haley J snuck up, rolled up Abadon, and pinned her at 8:41. Dani hit a Michinoku Driver on Amira for a nearfall. Amira hit a dropkick onto a chair in Dani’s hands. Dani hit a World’s Strongest Slam across an open chair to pin Dani at 10:24. Haley J jumped back in and choked Amira with her dog’s leash! She pinned Amira at 10:55! Haley celebrated, thinking she won. However, Ruiz got back in, hit a Death Valley Driver, and pinned Haley. Fun, but I hate the rapid-fire pins.

Lili La Pescadita won the 10-woman Bad Bitch Brawl (elimination match) at 11:27.

* London Dior vs. Kris Statlander vs. Maya World was the intermission match. I hadn’t seen this, so I left it on. Statlander won.

* Back from the break, The Backslide Girlz came out. Kingsley sang, and they danced. Fire & Fury again came out, wanting to be in the next tag match, but Abadon and others beat them up! Athena ran to the back to find a new tag opponent for The Backslide Girlz! It’s Shayna Baszler and Kris Statlander!

5. “The Backslide Girlz” Kingsley and Shay Kassidy vs. Shayna Baszler and Kris Statlander. This should be a squash, right? Statlander opened against Kingsley. Kris executed a delayed vertical suplex. Shayna wasn’t even paying attention; she was counting her money while standing on the apron! Kris tagged Shayna in; Shayna looked annoyed. Kingsley set up for a German Suplex, but Shayna shrugged free. Pink-haired Shay got in, and the Girlz hit stereo kicks on Baszler. Shayna clearly wasn’t amused, and she stomped on Kingsley’s left elbow at 3:00. Shay hit an Air Raid Crash on Kris for a nearfall!

The Girlz danced again and hit stereo elbow drops on Kris for a nearfall. Shayna was still counting her money and ignoring the match! Kris dropped Shay onto Kingsley, and Kris hit a senton onto both. Shayna got a hot tag at 5:30 and beat up both Girlz. Statlander hit a slingshot senton. She nailed a discus clothesline. Kris hit a Michinoku Driver on Kingsley at 7:30, and everyone was down. Allison said this was an “odd couple pairing.” Shay hit a clothesline and a back elbow on Shayna, then a running stunner. Kingsley hit a 619. Shayna slammed Shay and scored the pin. Fun match.

Shayna Baszler and Kris Statlander defeated “The Backslide Girlz” Kingsley and Shay Kassidy at 8:35.

6. Marina Shafir vs. Hyan (w/Maya World). Standing switches early on, and Marina tied up Hyan. Hyan hit a pump kick to the chest, and she hit a top-rope crossbody block at 3:30. Marina rolled to the floor and did some push-ups. In the ring, Marina hit some punches to the ribs, and she tied up Hyan in a “Mother’s Milk” sleeper in the corner and let go. The ref checked Hyan, determined she was out, and called for the bell. Solid, but certainly shorter than I anticipated.

Marina Shafir defeated Hyan at 6:33.

7. Kay Lee Ray vs. Shotzi Blackheart vs. Billie Starkz in a three-way. They briefly lost the signal, so they delayed the start of the match. They opened in a three-way knuckle lock, then they traded rollups. Billie hit a jumping knee on Kay Lee Ray’s chin. Shotzi rolled them both up at 1:30. Shotzi hit a 619 on Billie, then a top-rope crossbody block on both for a nearfall. Shotzi hit a huracanrana to the floor on Billie at 3:00! That was a crazy bump! Shotzi slammed Kay Lee on the ring apron, then hit a running kick to her jaw for a nearfall at 4:30.

Kay Lee applied a front guillotine choke on Shotzi in the corner. Billie jumped in and hit an Electric Chair Drop on Kay Lee as Shotzi was hitting a missile dropkick, and they were all down at 6:00. They all got up and traded chops. Shotzi hit a 619 on Billie. Shotzi and Kay Lee hit stereo clotheslines, and everyone was down again at 7:30. Kay Lee Ray hit a Gory Bomb on Billie for a nearfall, Kay Lee hit a tornado DDT on Billie, but Shotzi made the save. Shotzi hit a rolling cannonball on Kay Lee Ray.

Shotzi hit a top-rope flying senton on Kay Lee, but Billie hit a Swanton Bomb on Shotzi at 9:00! Billie hit a neckbreaker over her knee. Billie hit a spin kick to Kay Lee’s face. Shotzi hit her Low Ki-style rolling Koppo Kick. Billie hit a tornado DDT on Shotzi. Kay Lee nailed a Jay Driller on Billie for the pin. A really good match with non-stop action; more of that please!

Kay Lee Ray defeated Shotzi Blackheart and Billie Starkz at 10:46.

8. Vert Vixen vs. Nikki Storm for the MPX Women’s Title. Vert is taller and backed Nikki into the corner, and she knocked Storm down with a shoulder block. Nikki hit a basement dropkick on the knee, then a dropkick to the chest and a monkey-flip at 1:30. They rolled to the floor and brawled. Vert shoved her face-first into the ring post at 3:00. They got back into the ring, with Vert in charge. Vert hit a snap suplex for a nearfall, and an Irish Whip at 6:30. Vert threw some chops.

Nikki finally hit a German Suplex for a nearfall. She charged at Vixen, but crashed shoulder-first into the corner. Vert applied a Boston Crab in the ropes at 8:00, letting go before a DQ. They got up and traded forearm strikes. They hit stereo clotheslines at 10:00; Nikki popped up and was fired up. She hit a bulldog and a flying top-rope crossbody block for a nearfall. Nikki hit a tornado DDT for a nearfall. Vert nailed an Exploder Suplex at 11:30, a Helluva Kick, and a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall. She missed a second-rope elbow drop, and Nikki immediately hit a swinging neckbreaker for a nearfall at 13:00.

Nikki went to the top turnbuckle, but Vert shook the ropes, and Nikki fell onto the turnbuckle. Vert immediately hit a superplex, and they were both down. Vert hit a backbreaker over her knee at 14:30, and she applied a Boston Crab, but Storm reached the ropes. Vert nailed a brainbuster for a nearfall, and she rolled to the floor in frustration that she didn’t win there. She grabbed her title belt and slid into the ring, but the female ref immediately grabbed it.

Vert accidentally struck the ref in the corner! Vert immediately pulled out brass knuckles from her back pocket! She swung and missed. Nikki hit a Magic Screw twisting neckbreaker off the ropes, but we had no ref! Nikki woke her up, but the ref only made a two-count at 17:30. Vert nailed a punch to the jaw and got the tainted pin. A really strong match from both women.

Vert Vixen defeated Nikki Storm to retain the MPX Women’s Title at 18:02.

Final Thoughts: A fun show with some really entertaining matches. A strong main event earned best of the night, and the three-way with Shotzi, Billie, and Kay Lee Ray was a close second-place. Zakher-Luck was really good and earned third. The cage match was a solid brawl, and the crowd loved the unexpected appearances in several matches.

Not sure why Jane Nero was in the United States… but I sure hope they didn’t fly her over here to lose that quickly in an elimination match. I get that not everyone can have a prominent role on every show, but her appearance here should have been a bigger deal. Again, she’s comparable to Shayna Baszler; I fully believe she could beat up the other women and hold her own against men. This show is available on the MyAEW PPV tier.
