AEW President Tony Khan spoke with the pro wrestling media on Thursday, August 27, 2026, to promote Sunday’s AEW All In London pay-per-view. Refresh the page for the latest updates.
-Tony Khan opened the show by talking about how excited he is for the All In weekend.
-Jon Alba asked about returning to Wembley Stadium. Khan spoke about the attendance and said they are approaching a $6 million gate for Sunday.
-Courtney Rice asked about Jamie Hayter. Khan said he’s a huge fan and noted that she worked the original Full Gear in 2019. Khan said he’s looking forward to Hayter and Alex Windsor challenging Megan Bayne and Lena Kross for the AEW Women’s Tag Team Titles on Sunday.
-Andrew Baydala asked if Khan has considered doing a longer tour of the UK. Khan said they’ve had great experiences in the UK. He feels there are more opportunities to run different UK cities. Khan said he loves bringing their shows to the UK.
-Dave Meltzer asked if they are committed to running Wembley Stadium next season. Khan said the support has been incredible. Khan said this will be the largest pay-per-view they’ve ever done on HBO Max. He feels that’s a huge feather in AEW’s cap. Khan said the event will start at noonCT/1ET and will run for four hours. He said he thinks the fans will enjoy the pacing. He expects it to be over by 4CT/5ET. Khan said it’s a very interesting time in pro wrestling. He said the outlook on the sports media side is very positive for the top pro wrestling companies. He said that because of the financial strength of the family that owns AEW and the success of the company, they’ve been able to get AEW to where it is in a short period of time.
-Meltzer also asked who is in the AEW Trios Title match at All In. Khan said there are a lot of trios clamoring for the titles, including some former champions. He also mentioned that there are free agents available. Khan recalled a 21-man, seven-team trios battle royale that they held on Christmas one year. Khan mentioned the Buy In pre-show. He said he thinks the match is an exciting opportunity. He said he’s branding the match a Trios Roulette Royale, and it will be on the pre-show. He mentioned the Bang Bang Gang, The Dogs, The Demand, The Death Riders team of Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Pac, and The Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, and Kyle O’Reilly. He said he thinks he can field a pretty interesting “wildcard team” in the seventh spot. He said he’s still working on bringing in the wildcard team and thinks he can get it done.
-Dominic DeAngelo asked about talent being lost in the shuffle shortly after they debut in AEW and how Khan tries to find the right balance. Khan mentioned injuries and other factors.
-Leonard Surrao asked about Thekla. Khan recalled talking about the length of the card. He said he thinks she will return to AEW soon. He said there could be opportunities for additional segments at All In. He said there will be additional announcements regarding the main card and the pre-show. Khan also said there would be more on Saturday’s AEW Collision. Khan said Thekla has been a great champion for them. He said she can come in and be a great part of their shows at any time. Khan said Thekla is a very valued person in AEW and added that he’s very excited about the pay-per-view card.
-Carlos Agular asked about a report that Willow Nightingale has a legitimate hand injury. Khan said it’s true. He said he had plans for Willow on Dynamite that he had to change within hours of the event, but she will be wrestling at All In.
-Amy Nemmity asked how long Kenny Omega vs. Will Ospreay for the AEW World Championship has been the plan to headline All In. Khan initially went into kayfabe mode, but then said he would pull back the curtain a bit. Khan said Omega is “so largely responsible” for the creation and launch of AEW. Khan said Omega is an amazing person. He said he thinks Omega is having some of his best matches this year, and is being so intelligent and thoughtful in how he’s executed things.
Khan said they went full blast with Omega when he returned from his bout with diverticulitis, and perhaps it was too much. He said Omega has taken “incredibly detailed care of his body.” Khan said Omega has managed his recovery and has been very smart about his training. He said it’s been very much by design that there are times when Omega is represented in video packages. He said Omega has been training and taking the very best care of his body, and it’s working for him.
Khan said he may have pushed Omega harder than he should have last year. Khan said he’s been working with Omega to find the perfect schedule so that fans will get the very best of Omega when he comes through the curtain. Khan said he’s wanted to have the Omega vs. Ospreay match for a really long time. He recalled them working at Forbidden Door for the IWGP U.S. Championship, but they’ve never had a match for the AEW World Championship.
-Ella Jay recalled there being a women’s Casino Gauntlet on the show last year and asked if there’s a reason there’s not one this year. Khan said he’s still planning out the show. He said there’s a match that’s yet to be announced that could give several women an opportunity. He also said they just had a women’s Casino Gauntlet match recently.
-Sean Ross Sapp asked about MyAEW.com and whether it could end up being the home for the AEW and ROH libraries. Khan spoke about their partnership with HBO Max and Warner Bros. Discovery. He said anything he does on MyAEW would only be with WBD’s blessing. He said he knows that WBD was very happy with last night’s Dynamite and added that their numbers are up for Dynamite and Collision year over year. Khan said he knows they are also one of the top shows on HBO Max, even though those numbers are not transparent to everyone. He also spoke about All In doing the best
-Ahmed Hamdy asked about Britt Baker saying she’d like to come back and asked if there’s a chance we could see her at All In on Sunday. Khan was non-committal. He said she was on the show the last time they ran Wembley Stadium. Khan said he always says “stay tuned” when he gets questions about people debuting or returning.
-Alex Hunt asked if the Continental Cup is a one-off tournament or if it will become a fixture. Khan spoke positively about the tournament and took a “we’ll see” approach regarding its future. He said he’s also looking forward to the Continental Classic this winter.
-Khan closed out the media session with his final comments. He said he’s excited about the show. He said things are still coming together as far as the lineup beyond the established eight. He said there’s a ton of excitement regarding the show. He brought up the trios match again and how he’s been working to put together a wildcard team to be the jokers. Khan said he thinks he learned from last year. He said it was a great year for AEW and they tried a lot of things. He said he thinks they’ve taken the things they’ve learned from last year and had an even better year. He mentioned Willow’s injury and said it’s unfortunate. He said he didn’t think she was eager to disclose the injury because he didn’t know about it until yesterday. He said there are so many matches that he’s looking forward to. Khan thinks it will be one of AEW’s best shows and a big success for the company. Khan mentioned some of the main card matches that hadn’t been mentioned during the call. Khan said he’s grateful for the coverage, including from people who have covered it for all seven years. Khan wrapped up the call. We hope to have the audio available as a free podcast later today.
