Aired live June 9, 2026, on The CW Network
[Hour One] A Great American Bash hype package aired to introduce this week’s NXT show, noting that the matches on this week’s show will set the table for Great American Bash…
Split Screen arrival shots were shown of Naraku and Mason Rook, Kendal Grey and Kelani Jordan, and Tatum Paxley and Zaria. Vic noted Tatum Paxley vs. Zaria will be the main event of this week’s show (Possible title change?)…
Nathan Frazer and Axiom made their entrance to their lame buttrock entrance theme. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno then made their entrance Meta-Four style…
1. “Fraxiom” Nathan Frazer and Axiom vs. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno. Axiom and Dar started the match. Dark landed a shoulder tackle and yanked Axiom out of the air with an Ankle Lock. Axiom reversed a Jackknife into a pin attempt. Dar got a backslide two count. Axiom came back with a dropkick. Romeo tagged in. Vic noted that Romeo and Axiom grew up in the same town. Before they could lock up, Frazer tagged himself in, which Axiom didn’t like.
Both men traded counters, but Frazer was intimidated by Moreno backing him down. Dar tagged in and went for a sleeper. Frazer escaped and gave Dar a chop. Dar ducked a leg lariat. Dar worked on Frazer with Muay Thai footsies for a two count. Frazer hit Dar with his signature twisting Enzuigiri. Axiom tagged in and hit Moreno with an assisted dropkick. Dar blocked a tope from Axiom with a Gamengiri.
Dar and Moreno dumped their opponents to ringside. Moreno hit Fraxiom with a springboard dive to ringside. Dar hit Fraxiom with a Triangle Moonsault.[c]
Back from break, Dar caught Frazer out of the air with a uppercut. Moreno and Axiom tagged in. Moreno hit Axiom with a flurry of strikes. Moreno hit Axiom with a clotehsline. Moreno hit Frazer with a German Suplex. Moreno hit Axiom with a Missile Dropkick for a nearfall. Dar tagged in and put Axiom into a Juji Gatame. Frazer broke it up with a Frog Splash. Fraxiom hit both of their opponents with two consecutive stereo Suicide Dives.
Axiom hit Dar with a high low dropkick. Dark kicked out. A “this is awesome” Axiom and Dar traded rollup variations. Dar reversed the Golden Ratio into an Ankle Lock. Moreno put Frazer in an Ankle Lock to prevent the breakup. Fraxiom both escaped. Frazer hit Moreno with a Superplex. Moreno got a small pckage for a good nearfall. Axiom accidentally hit Frazer with a superkick. Moreno dumped Axiom to ringside.
Dar and Moreno hit Frazer with a double slam for a nearfall. Vic noted that the referee took additional time to get in position. Dar took a dive and ate a double superkick from Fraxiom. Fraxiom hit Romeo in the ring with a Golden Ratio and Phoenix Splash. Axiom picked up the win on Moreno.
Fraxiom defeated Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar via pinfall in 13:17.
Both teams shared a respectful handshake. Frazer told Dar that he and Axiom aren’t tag guys, but became a great tag team. Frazer said Dar just found his new tag partner. Dar and Moreno hugged after the match…
Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair were chatting backstage. Wren said she’s about to ask Robert Stone to start a new women’s speed tournament so she can defend her title. Grey said she shouldn’t due to being injured. Lola Vice approached Grey to apologize for the accidental strike last week. Grey said this is the 2nd accidental strike Vice gave her. Grey said she’ll take care of Vice once she takes care of Kelani…[c]
John’s Thoughts: Shut up Wren! The match that took place before your segment was evidence to why there shouldn’t be Speed matches on the show. I kid, I kid, but seriously, why are those toy blets still around? All four guys two weeks ago were relegated to 3 minute rushed and pointless segments, while this week they put on a banger of a match. Onto that match, it was awesome. With the post match segment, it looks like Dar and Moreno are a tag team now, which should be fun. Romeo Moreno continues to make a strong impression week to week with stellar in-ring work. This week he stood out even more because he was a giant amongst cruiserweights, being the largest man of the four.
Sarah Schreiber introduced the Tristan Angels vs. Shiloh Hill Mr. NXT Pageant. Sarah said the contestants will be judged by attire, talent, and public speaking. A QR code aired on the screen for fans to vote. Sarah walked over to Evolve Champion Aaron Rourke, Kit Wilson, and comedian Matt Matthews, where she introduced them as the judges.
Tristan Angels showed off a white suit, t-shirt, and UK speedo. This dropped Rourke’s jaw. Hill had a three piece suit, tank top, and pool snorkel set of attires. Matt said he likes Tristan from the neck down, while Hill is a whole man who gave him a ball. Wilson said Hill was T for tacky, while he loved Angels. Rourke said that Hill was okay, but he begrudgingly has to give the point to Angels…
John’s Thoughts: You guys are wrong if you’re not rooting for Mr. England over that dork Shiloh Hill! (Hey, I think Hill will be a future world champion, if they stop writing him to be a DORK!).
Mason Rook made his entrance. Vic reminded viewers of John Cena endorsing Rook. The artist formerly known as Evil, Naraku, made his entrance…
2. Naraku vs. Mason Rook. Naraku dominated the early collar and elbow. Both men had a stalemate trading shoulder tackles. Rook took down Naraku wiht a running shoulder tackle. Tony D’Angelo was watching the match on a monitor. Rook hit Naraku with a slam and running Senton for a two count. Naraku hit Rook with clotheslines in the corner. Naraku hit an ugly, but effective World’s Strongest Slam on the big man Rook.[c]
Back from break, both men were on the top rope. Rook hit Naraku with an impressive Super Power Slam for a nearfall. Rook caught a running Naraku with a impressive Blue Thunder Bomb for a good nearfall. Naraku came back with an impressive Fireman Carry into a Power Bomb. Naraku hit Rook with a clothesline and Fisherman Suplex for a nearfall. After trading counters, Naraku put Rook in a Sleeper.
Rook teased passing out, but recovered and hit Naraku with a Backpack Cannonball. Kam Hendrix ran out for the distraction. Naraku rolled up Rook for the nearfall. Rook knocked Kam off the apron. The distraction allowed Naraku to hit Rook with a STO for the victory.
Naraku defeated Mason Rook via pinfall in 9:42.
Myles Borne and Tavion Heights were arguing backstage. Heights dared Borne to give him a title match at Great American Bash. Vanity Project pulled up. Jackson Drake said that he doesn’t like that Borne is giving out title shots to his friends. Tavion said he doesn’t take handouts, he hands ass whoopin’s. Heights challenged Drake to a number one contender’s match for Borne’s title. Drake accepted. Borne wished Heights luck, which Heights didn’t accept…
Wren Sinclair was wishing Kendal Grey luck backstage heading into break…[c]
John’s Thoughts: You could see the interference coming from a mile away given how they are trying to introduce both Rook and Naraku into NXT’s main event and both guys just showed up recently. I’ll forgive it here as they have the hard task of trying to get everyone over, and I like that Kam Hendrix is growing on me as the cocky athlete. The match was a good kind of ugly on Naraku’s end, in that he did struggle to get up the big man, but that made it more meaningful when he finally was able to get off some slams. Rook is making his own strong first impression with his agility and size combo.
A intro video aired for Tate Wilder. Wilder talked about how he grew up with five brothers and is a thrill seeker. He talked about how he did bull riding, dirtbiking, cliff jumping, and whatever it takes to seek a thrill. He said everyone sees him as crazy. He said it’s balls to the wall every time in NXT. He said NXT is full of athletes and monsters, and he’s one daredevil on a cliff seeing if he can fly…
John’s Thoughts: Good promo vid to finally give Tate a proper introduction. He came off well as a good ol’ country boy and adrenaline junkie. I’m actually curious to see where his development leads him as his whole character has led to failure so far in NXT, with him shooting himself in the foot for the thrill.
Entrances for the next match took place…
3. Kendal Grey vs. Kelani Jordan. Jordan tried to jump Grey before the bell, but she saw it coming. Grey took down Kelani into an armbar. Kelani got a two count after a crossbody. Grey swatted Kelani out of the air and hit her with a slam for a two count. Kelani stomped on Grey in the corner. Grey slipped out of the corner, but Kelani stomped on Kendal when she tried to slide under her. Kelani punched Kendal in the lower back.
Kendal hit Kelani with a high kick and did a Handstand into a huracanrana. Jordan shoved Grey away. Kelani hit Grey with a jawbreaker on the top rope. Kelani then hit Grey with a baseball slide into a neckbreaker.[c]
[Hour Two] Grey and Jordan took each other out with a clothesline at ringside. Both women beat the ten count at 8. Grey rallied and hit Kelani with a Belly to Belly. Grey did her strap drop spot. Grey tossed Kelani with suplexes. Kelani held on to the ropes to block Shades of Grey. Kelani tried to get the leverage pin on Grey, but the referee saw it coming. Grey rolled up Kelani for a two count.
Kelani rolled Grey into a Crossface. Grey broke up the submission with a pin attempt. Grey reversed a handstand into a German Suplex with a bridge for a two count. Jordan caught Grey with a Superkick off a flying nothing. Kelani hit Grey with a slingshot corkscrew Cutter. Kelani hit Grey with a Frog Splash for a nearfall.
Grey caught Kelani out of the air into a Armbar. Kelani blocked the bar and broke the hold with knees to the head. Kelani put Grey in a deep Sharpshooter. Grey escaped. Both women traded two counts. Both women traded rapid pin attempts. Grey hit Kelani with Shades of Grey (Paydirt) for the victory.
Kendal Grey defeated Kelani Jordan via pinfall in 13:03.
Vic talked about Grey vs. Vice being a battle of two crossover athletes…
John’s Thoughts: Lots of good in-ring action tonight. I’d say this is a good preview of a future main roster PLE main event given how talented both of these women are as complete athletes.
Cut back to the Mr. NXT pageant. It was the talent portion of the contest. Hill solved a Rubix cube in a few seconds. He then did tricks with that string and swivel thing. Tristan Angels shoved Hill aside saying he could do the Rubix cube. Angels couldn’t solve it. Aaron Rourke told Angels he was past time. Angels broke the cube on the ground. Angels pulled out some beanbags and did juggling. Hill showed upon a unicycle and did juggling better.
All three judges agreed that Hill won the talent portion of the pageant. Sarah said that the final protion will be public speaking. Sarah reminded viewers to vote via QR code…[c]
Blake Howard interviewed Tony D’Angelo about Naraku being his next opponent. He said that he respects Naraku’s accomplishments, but doesn’t quite know Naraku’s vibe. Naraku approached D’Angelo and handed D’Angelo card with a yellow kanji symbol (as I said, I’m terrible with my chinese characters even though I grew up learning the language. I don’t think that’s the symbol for war this time? Or it’s the Simplified symbol for war)…
John’s Thoughts: Hmmm… Naraku laying on the respect so thickly makes it look like he has something up his sleeve. Is he maybe putting together a faction? Shot in the dark, but Tetsuya Naito and Ticking Time Bomb are free agents? I would have mixed thoughts if that happens, if only because Naraku was the 4th and forgettable man of Los Ingonables when he was with those guys. I would probably accept that group if they try to do something different and have Naraku as the leader instead of Naito.
Jasper Troy was already in the ring. Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin got a televised entrance…
4. Jasper Troy vs. Dion Lennox (w/Osiris Griffin). Troy got a two count after multiple body slams. Dion escaped a chokeslam and hit Troy with a Chop Block. Dion went for a headlock, but was distracted by Saquon Shugars on the big screen telling Dion to watch his back. Troy backdropped Dion to ringside heading into break.[c]
Back from break, Dion was beating up Troy while Griffin was talking smack. Troy managed to tackle Dion to a corner. Troy hit Dion with a Power Slam. Troy did a Kip Up. Troy hit Dion with Stinger Splashes and a World’s Strongest Slam. Troy distracted the referee and Troy, which allowed Dion to dodge a Vader Bomb. Dion hit Troy with a Running Power Slam for the victory.
Dion Lennox defeated Jasper Troy via pinfall in 10:11.
Saquon Shugars appeared on the big screen, acting like he was beating down Cutler James. Dion and Griffin got distracted by the big screen buffering (to show it was a pre-tape). Shugars appeared
A Twitter Video was shown of Jaida Parker attacking Nattie Neidhart at the Hart Dungeon during a training session…
Vic hyped the final round of Mr. NXT for after the break…
John’s Thoughts: My man Jasper Troy can’t catch a break. Not only is he “already in the ring” but he can’t even catch the distraction protection that everyone else gets. The guy’s an impressive big man and I hope they can repackage him and get him out of this enhancement wrestler funk. The Saquon Shugars pre-tape distraction was clever, but I’m already worried for DarkState at this point, thinking it might be similar to Tony D’Angelo running through them like a knife through butter. So far Saquon took out two guys with zero resistance. Just fast forward at this point and end DarkState.
Vic Joseph hyped TripleMania ticket sales…
Vic Joseph and Booker T checked in on commentary. They sent the show to Sarah Schreiber, who was in the ring for the final round of the Mr. NXT pageant. Judges Kit Wilson, Aaron Rourke, and Matt Matthews sat down at the crow’s nest. Angels cut his promo, but was drowned out by boos (Shut up fans! Let Mr. England talk!). England talked about having experience in pageants and is humble.
He talked about having humble beginnings as a sheep herder, meaning he can relate to the pigs in the audience. He said it’s his 23rd birthday, and he got a Mr. NXT tattoo. He said you can walk off a cliff if you vote for a hillbilly with crooked teeth in Shiloh Hill. It was Hill’s turn. Hill said he thought he had to find a monocle, but he had to find himself. He talked how he’s all over the place so far in NXT.
He talked about how he showed up with his teeth, hacking, stilts, car destruction, and unicycles. He said he has a hard time finding himself, but that’s what NXT is all about. He said it’s ok as long as you roll with the punches, adapt, and hit harder, you’ll be alright. He said he thinks he handles that part about NXT well. Sarah asked the judges for their votes. Matt Matthews said he’s impressed with Hill’s effort.
Matt said that he likes that Angels improved his ramen noodle haircut. He said his votes still goes to Hill. Kit Wilson said he likes what Hill does, but the raccoons are toxic. Wilson said Angels is also toxic. He said the long blonde hair and English accent does something for him. Kit gave Angels a “Yes boy!” vote. Aaron Rourke said he likes that Hill embraces the weird.
Rourke said that Angels looks the part. He said he’ll let the crowd take his vote. Sarah sent the show to the graphic and the graphic said that Shiloh Hill won the online vote. While Hill was putting on his sash, Angels beat up Hill with a cane. A “toxic” chant ensued. Hill then beat up Shiloh Hill with a steel chair. Angels hit Hill with a Knee driver into the chair. Tristan Angels claimed his was Mr. NXT while putting a knee on the back of Hill’s neck…
John’s Thoughts: Jokes aside, that was more entertaining that I expected, but it was still pretty cringe. Shiloh Hill’s promo was interesting as they addressed that his character was all over the place and tried to paint that as a positive. I don’t think it does as it makes him look like an actor trying to find a role as opposed to being a natural character existing in a storyline universe.
NXT GM Robert Stone congratulated Naraku about becoming Number One Contender. Stone asked Naraku what he handed Tony D earlier. Naraku said he gave Tony an invitation for battle. Keanu Carver showed up to talk trash. Stone sent Naraku away. Keanu asked why people are passing him in line for a title shot. Stone said he’ll pick an opponent for Keanu next week. Keanu said if Stone can fine and opponent, he’ll find one himself…
Separate shots of Zaria and Tatum Paxley were shown as they were walking backstage…[c]
Nattie Neidhart vs. Jaida Parker, Jackson Drake vs. Tavion Heights, women’s speed matches, and a sitdown between Naraku and Tony’D Angelo
The Culling were backstage. Izzi Dame was confused and disappointed about being in the Speed tournament. Spears said he got Izzi in the tournament and the speed title can be the first step to getting the Culling back to the top. Vance and Dame warmed up to the idea of Izzi becoming Speed champion…
John’s Thoughts: See! Izzi thinks the Speed titles suck.
Zaria made her entrance. Tatum Paxley made her entrance wearing Rouge the Bat cosplay from Sonic the Hedgehog. Mike Rome handled the formal in-ring championship match introductions…
5. Tatum Paxley vs. Zaria for the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Zaria immediately hit Tatum with a Spear for a nearfall. Zaria tossed Tatum around at ringside. Tatum kicked out at two. Zaria tossed Tatum around the ring several times. Tatum tried to come back with strikes, but got hit with a German Suplex. Tatum sidestepped Zaria to trap her in the ropes. Tatum hit Zaria with a stomp into the steps and an Asai Moonsault.[c]
Tatum hit Zaria with a hanging DDT and kick combo. Tatum hit Zaria with a Scorpion Kick and standing Harlem Hangover. Tatum hit Zaria with another Hangover for a nearfall. Zaria used a wide base to block a Pumphandle. Zaria hit Tatum with a suplex and headbutt. Tatum landed on her feet during a German attempt. Tatum blocked a Spear with a nice stomp counter. Tatum hit Zaria with a Lightning Spiral.
Zaria dodged a 450 and hit Tatum with a Spear for a good nearfall. After trading kicks, Tatum took Zaria down. Zaria and Tatum made their way to the top rope. Tatum used a high kick to put Zaria in a Tree of Woe. Tatum hit Zaria with a Coast to Coast dropkick. Zaria kicked out at two. Tatum escaped a F5 . Zaria no sold a Liger Kick. Tatum pulled down the rope to dump Zaria to ringside. Zaria dodged a clothesline and hit Tatum with an F5 on the floor. Zaria hit Tatum with a Spear in the ring. Zaria hit Tatum with the F5 for the victory.
Zaria defeated Tatum Paxley via pinfall in 10:46 to become the new NXT Women’s North American Champion.
Vic Joseph reminded viewers that the North American title was the title that drove a wedge between Zaria and Sol Ruca. Zaria celebrated her title win to close the show…
John’s Thoughts: As I noted at the beginning of the show, when they announced the Women’s North American Championship match in the main event, I saw it as a sign for the title change. I’m all for it! They had to go this way given we’re fresh off the extremely slow burned Zaria heel turn. Tatum got her hope spots in there and was competitive. As a Sonic fan, bonus points for her Rouge the Bat cosplay. It was fine having her be competitive given she’s been a strong champion. That helps even more to have Zaria pick up the dominant clean win over a strong champion.
Sista has the F5 and Spear. Why not make her the female pseudo-Brock Lesnar? She has an imposing overall look and presentation (which she came into the company with, but they ruined that a bit by really humanizing her when she should have been a monster). Here’s hoping they don’t mess it up this time and they present her as a dominant monster. Feed her some cannon fodder that she can tear through and have her in competitive matches against credible underdogs. Eventually one of those plucky underdogs will overcome her, hopefully months-and-months from now.
This week’s NXT was really good. One of the stronger episodes too. Another week of trying to get a lot of people over at the same time, but they aren’t in wheel spinning mode and they are trying to use every minute to be productive. Hey, and no Speed titles and no Birth Right? That’s a net positive. The Mr. NXT thing wasn’t good, but it wasn’t a trainwreck like I came into this show thinking. Having Kit Wilson on the show is a net positive! Justice for Mr. England too because he clearly was the most talented man in that pageant.

Piper Niven Jr. is fucking terrible. Just an awful look, awful promo, and no real talent. He’s shitty indie wrestler to the core.
