AEW Dynamite rating: Near record low viewership count

By Jason Powell, ProWrestling.net Editor (@prowrestlingnet)

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite television show averaged 477,000 viewers for TBS, according to Wade Keller of PWTorch.com. The viewership total was down from the 534,000 viewership average of last week’s show. Dynamite finished with a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demo, down from last week’s 0.11 rating in the same demo.

Powell’s POV: The HBO Max streaming numbers are not included in the rating or viewership count for AEW programming. We don’t have the ProgrammingInsider.com numbers as of this update, but one can only assume that the return of the NBA hurt AEW, just as it did Tuesday’s NXT on The CW, which averaged 525,000 viewers and a 0.07 rating in the 18-49 demo. The September 3, 2025, episode set the record for the lowest viewership mark for a Dynamite that aired on a Wednesday on TBS with 472,000 viewers. One year ago, the October 23, 2024, edition of Dynamite on TBS delivered 637,000 viewers and a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

  1. 6.9 million on Max according to BJ Breathel.

  2. It’s the lowest demo rating for them ever. If a corp buys WBD, it’s hard to imagine Dynamite being kept on, unless the new owner has no choice.

185 mil/year for these ratings, oof. And Max once again was last by a trillion miles on the live tv streaming list. I’d be surprised if Dyn even gets 50k viewers on Max most weeks.

    • Has that $185 million number ever been proven, or was it just Meltzer “reporting” what Tony told him to?

That $185 million never came from a real source and Meltzer claimed they were negotiating with Fox to air something called Shockwave at the same time.

      • True, never been truly confirmed. The objective economics wrestling guys say they don’t buy it (without saying what they do suspect it is). If the # is accurate, then WBD are morons and CW are geniuses, with NXT getting 20-25 mil a year. Do we know if a WBD buyer would be allowed to cut ties with Aew without penalty? If it’s 185, they’ll 100% want to be done with all things Aew.
