Battle of New England
1. Drew Gulak pinned Dave Cole with a cradle sunset roll.
2. Team Pazuzu (Jaka, Pinkie Sanchez, Angel Ortiz, and Mike Draztik) over Anthony Greene, Big Daddy Balooga, Ace Romero, and Xavier Bell. Pazuzu won a fun match following a Powerbomb/neckbreaker/stomp combo and a splash off the top for good measure.
3. Brian Milonas beat JT Dunn. This was a hard-hitting match. Beforehand, Dunn said that if he lost against a mystery opponent he would leave Beyond Wrestling. Milonas was in the ring to be referee, but after months of issues between the two, he answered the challenge. After losing, Dunn cut a quick little farewell promo putting over Milonas and Beyond.
Battle of Who Could Care Less
1. David Starr beat Eddie Edwards. This match was pretty stiff and went about 30 minutes at a great pace before Starr got the win with a straight-jacket German suplex. Post-match, Joey Janela ran in and attacked Starr. He tried to kill him by suffocating him with a plastic bag, but Jonathan Gresham ran out to make the save. Gresham buried Janela as a backyarder and told him to get out of the pros’ ring.
2. Anthony Stone and The Hoodz (Kris Pyro and Davey Cash) over Brian Fury and Da Hit Squad (Dan Maff and Steve Mack). DHS had it won, but lost when Neveah ran in for The Hoods and delivered a low blow.
3. LuFisto won the four-way match over Jordynne Grace, Neveah, and Veda Scott. LuFisto pinned Neveah with a Burning Hammer. This was pretty much a mess.
4. The Crusade for Change (Darius Carter, TJ Marconi, Anthony Gangone, and the M1nute Men) over Peter Kasa, Fred Yehei, Prince Apollo, Shynron, and Black Baron. The WWA4 team with Kasa, Yehei, and Baron was a very welcomed unadvertised surprise. The Crusade rolled on with a Wheelbarrow DDT and wheelbarrow Codebreaker sequence that they called the Public Execution.
Beyond returns on 10/2 from the Center for the Arts at the Armory in Somerville, Mass. War Machine, Michael Elgin, and Ricochet will all be returning to Beyond on that show.
5. Keith Lee pinned AR Fox with a sit-out superbomb. This was a very fun high-flying, high-impact match. Keith Lee has really burst onto the scene this year.
Intermission
6. Chuck O’Neil submitted Dan Barry in about two minutes. Barry was particularly over for his appearances on Holy Foly and he was funny about playing that up, but O’Neil buried him and said that he was on a more legit reality show (Ultimate Fighter) and he’s more legit. Barry accidentally almost bumped the camerawoman, and when he turned his back to check on her, Chuck sank in a rear choke and tapped him.
7. Jonathan Gresham beat Tracy Williams by submission. Williams tapped out to a half-crab from Gresham with hammer strikes to the head. Very nice technical matchup. Post-match, Gresham challenged Joey Janela to step foot in a Beyond ring again against him.
8. Matthew Riddle beat Chris Dickinson. Brutally stiff match with an unfortunately flat finish. Chuck O’Neil ran in and jumped on the apron to distract Riddle, but it backfired and Riddle KO’d Dickinson with a roundhouse to the back of the head for the win. Afterwards, there was a big pull-apart scrap between Riddle, O’Neil, and Dickinson’s Pazuzu stablemate Jaka. The rest of Pazuzu came out to calm things down and help Dickinson to the back.
9. Donovan Dijak pinned Tommy End after Feast Your Eyes. This was a very good match that felt like it could’ve gone either way as it was going, despite the unlikelihood of Beyond’s ace losing to a NXT-bound guy. Afterwards, Dijak took a mic and told the story of how his Beyond match against Biff Busick got him interest from WXW, and when he went there the guy who helped him acclimate to the new country was Tommy End. He said that Tommy End is one of the best wrestlers on the planet and likewise one of the best human beings on the planet. They hugged before End left and it looked like the show was wrapped, when suddenly JT Dunn hit the ring and laid out Dijak with an elbow to the back of the head. Dunn said he’s going to take over Beyond and shut it down.
