The lighting is good, and it’s easy to see. The crowd was 125; I continue to be amazed at how many people show up around the third match. Brother Greatness, Bobby Casale, and Paul Crockett provided commentary.

1. Kylon King vs. Buck Sawin in a spotlight match. Again, Buck looks like a lost Briscoe Brother or Wyatt Family member. Standing switches to open, and Kylon threw him to the mat. Kylon hit a huracanrana and a dropkick, then a spinebuster for a nearfall. He backed Buck into a corner and hit some chops. Sawin hit a snap suplex at 3:00. They traded chops. Buck hit a back suplex and a running guillotine leg drop for a nearfall. Kylon fired up and hit some clotheslines and an Exploder Suplex, then a powerbomb. He hit a reverse suplex, dropping Sawin stomach-first to the mat, for the pin. Decent opener.

Kylon King defeated Buck Sawin at 5:31.

2. “The Residency” Rex Lawless and Nick Robles vs. Bobby Casale and Danny Miles in an Eliminator Tournament first-round match. They did the spot early on where Lawless snapped Bobby’s arm over his shoulder, but a few seconds later, he was (unaware!) as he snapped Nick’s arm over his shoulder. Rex worked over Miles and kept him grounded. Robles hit a dropkick for a nearfall at 5:00. He hit an Irish Whip, and they kept Danny in their corner.

Casale got in and hit a Bulldog Powerslam on Robles for a nearfall at 9:00. He traded forearm strikes with Rex, who accidentally hit a Mafia Kick on Robles! Casale immediately hit an Angle Slam on Rex. Rex hit a straight punch to Bobby’s jaw. Casale applied a standing rear-naked choke, and Rex fell to one knee. Robles jumped in and hit some punches on Bobby, but Bobby refused to let go.

Rex finally ran backwards into the corner to free himself at 11:30. Rex hit a Falcon Arrow on Casale, and Robles got a nearfall! All four got up and brawled. Miles hit a springboard clothesline. Bobby hit an Air Raid Crash on Robles, and Miles hit a frog splash to pin Nick. Good back-and-forth match, but the right team won.

Bobby Casale and Danny Miles defeated “The Residency” Rex Lawless and Nick Robles at 13:12 to advance.

3. Shannon LeVangie vs. Madisyn Maxxwell. My first time seeing Madisyn; she’s a young, white woman with long brown hair. She gives off a Chelsea Green comparison; her cagematch.net bio indicates she wrestles primarily in Florida. Standing switches to open, and they are both likely about 5’6″. Shannon hit a second-rope missile dropkick for a nearfall at 2:30. Madisyn slammed Shannon’s head into the top turnbuckle.

They traded forearm strikes. They hit a double hair-mare and were both down at 6:30. They got up and traded forearm strikes. Shannon hit some clotheslines and a dropkick, and they were both down. She hit an Air Raid Crash for a believable nearfall. Madisyn hit a Flatliner for a nearfall. Shannon hit a Lungblower to the back. They fought on the ropes in the corner. She hit the Sparkle Splash (a Twisted Bliss spinning frog splash) for the pin. Good action.

Shannon LeVangie defeated Madisyn Maxxwell at 9:03.

* Bobby Casale replaced Brother Greatness on commentary.

4. Myles Hawkins vs. Brad Hollister. This is a bonus, unadvertised match. Myles hit a punch before the bell, and we’re underway! Brad threw him into a corner and hit some chops. Hawkins fired back with his own chops. Hawkins hit a suplex for a nearfall at 2:00, then a basement dropkick for a nearfall, and he planted his knee in Brad’s spine. Brad hit a senton and a German Suplex, then a splash into the corner at 4:30.

Hollister hit a buttbump, and the crowd was fully behind him. Brad hit a pop-up powerbomb. He tried a German Suplex, but Hawkins rotated and landed on his feet. Hawkins hit a mule kick to the jaw, then an impressive top-rope flying elbow drop for a nearfall at 6:30. Brad nailed his Tornado Jackhammer for the pin. While the winner was never in doubt, Hawkins had a really good showing here and earned a return.

Brad Hollister defeated Myles Hawkins at 7:13.

* Hollister grabbed the mic, but two guys in hoodies attacked and beat him. It was “Brick City” Victor Chase and Julio Cruz! Julio (who was shaved bald two weeks ago!) wore a luchador mask to hide his head.

5. 23 Hazard and Paris Van Dale vs. Nessa Ferrari and Brother Greatness. Hazard and PVD came out first and jawed at the crowd. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, but BG and Nessa wore similar purple colors. The women opened. Nessa hit some spin kicks to the thighs and ribs and did a cartwheel-into-a-cover for a nearfall. The guys entered at 1:00. Hazard swatted away a dropkick, and he hit a shoulder tackle. BG hit some deep armdrags and a dropkick. Hazard pushed Brother Greatness into the heel corner. Paris hit a splits leg drop across his chest at 4:00.

Hazard got back in and hit blows to BG’s ribs. Brother Greatness hit a suplex and eventually got a nearfall. He hit a bulldog and made the hot tag at 6:30. Nessa hit some clotheslines on Paris, then a 619 and a top-rope crossbody block for a nearfall. Hazard jumped in and grabbed Nessa by her hair! She hit a Lungblower to his chest, then a Meteora on Paris. 23 Hazard rolled up Nessa, hooked her tights, and scored the tainted pin. Fun match. I’ll note that at no time did a man punch a woman in the face.

23 Hazard and Paris Van Dale defeated Nessa Ferrari and Brother Greatness at 8:05.

6. Jay Champagne vs. Omar La Casa in a Discovery Gauntlet Match. La Casa just wrestled on the Chaotic Wrestling show last weekend, but I think this is his debut here. Last week, I compared Champagne to “Mane Event” wrestler Midas Black, and I’ll stick to that. Standing switches to open. Omar hit a monkey-flip and a dropkick at 1:30. He hit a top-rope missile dropkick. Jay hit some punches and took control. He hit a standing neckbreaker for a nearfall at 5:00. Omar hit a swinging Flatliner for the pin! Merely okay.

Omar La Casa defeated Jay Champagne at 5:59 to advance.

* Allie Katch came to the ring. She isn’t cleared to wrestle tonight. So, we have a women’s tag match tonight, but who will team with Kylie Alexa? The babyfaces came out first, then Kylie. She was joined by both Paris Van Dale and Madisyn Maxxwell. Amira ran out of the back! What is she doing here? Amira clocked Liviyah, and we’re underway!

7. Kylie Alexa and (mystery partner) Amira vs. Gabby Forza and Liviyah. Those four brawled, while Allie dragged Paris and Madisyn to the back. Gabby and Amira brawled. From the apron, Kylie reached in and grabbed Gabby’s hair. That allowed Amira to hit a shotgun dropkick on Gabby at 2:00. Crockett was shocked that Amira struck Liviyah like that before the bell. Amira unloaded some chops and choked Gabby in the ropes. Kylie entered and hit a flying buttbump as Gabby was in the ropes, and she got a nearfall at 4:30. Amira tried to apply a Boston Crab, but Gabby fought free.

Gabby finally hit a sidewalk slam on Amira at 7:00, and they were both down. Liviyah got the hot tag and hit a wheelbarrow German Suplex on Kylie! Liv hit an airplane spin-into-a-slam for a nearfall. Gabby powerbombed Amira, and Liv immediately hit a frog splash for a nearfall at 9:30, but Kylie made the save. Gabby missed a spear into the corner. Amira hit a brainbuster on Liv for a nearfall. Kylie grabbed her belt, but Katch pulled her to the floor and kicked her in the face! Meanwhile, Liv rolled up Katch for a nearfall. She hit her implant DDT for the pin. Good action.

Gabby Forza and Liviyah defeated Kylie Alexa and Amira at 11:36.

8. “The Vibe” Sammy Diaz and Mani Ariez (w/Brother Greatness) vs. “The Breadwinners” Cash McGuiness and Patrick Wheatman in an Eliminator Tournament first-round match. On paper, this shouldn’t be close, but my Spidey-sense is telling me the Breadwinners might cheat to win. Diaz and redhead Wheatman opened. Diaz hit a flying back elbow into the corner and a suplex for a one-count. Mani entered and hit a running knee to the side of the head for a nearfall. He hit a twisting elbow drop for a nearfall at 2:30. Wheatman hit some chops on Diaz.

The Breadwinners worked over Sammy and kept him grounded. Mani got a hot tag at 8:30 and hit a twisting neckbreaker. He hit a frog splash on McGuiness for a nearfall. 23 Hazard appeared and distracted Mani. The Breadwinners hit some quick offense on Mani. Cash hit a flip dive to the floor on Sammy. Wheatman hit a frog splash onto Mani for a nearfall at 10:30! Mani threw the heels together. Sammy hit a top-rope swinging neckbreaker, and Mani made the cover on Cash for the pin. Big relief; the right team won to advance!

“The Vibe” Sammy Diaz and Mani Ariez defeated “The Breadwinners” Cash McGuiness and Patrick Wheatman at 11:45 to advance.

Final Thoughts: A pretty good show and a strong way to start the tag tournament. The women’s tag match was best of the night; those four all know each other well and are good workers. I’ll go with Hollister-Hawkins for second, and the Miles/Casale tag match for third. Shannon-Madisyn earned honorable mention and topped my expectations, as I really didn’t know what to expect from the newcomer.

No, I still haven’t warmed up to the Breadwinners. They are scrawny, unlikable heels and are just too small to be taken seriously. They should be thrown around and beaten in four minutes; they should not be getting 50/50 offense against an established tag team in the main event. As I said, at least Sammy and Mani won. The Discovery Gauntlet match didn’t do much for me this week; I’ll just leave it at that. I watched this live; this should be available on IWTV at some point on Friday.
