ASE Wrestling “This Is It”
September 6, 2026, in Charlotte, North Carolina, at Blume Studios

This is a large, dark factory with a high ceiling, and they held their June show here. The hard camera faced a stage with the curtain closed, so no fans were seated there. (The official website for Blume Studios states this venue is used for large art projects. It’s pretty cool.)
Big Swole and Chris Lea provided commentary.
* ASE (pronounced ‘Ah Shay‘) Wrestling is a celebration of Black wrestlers. I really like their roster and have checked out their past few shows.
1. Ameera Roze vs. Joseline Navarro. This was a pre-show match; the room wasn’t filled yet. Some basic back-and-forth action. Lea talked about Navarro surviving a gunshot wound to the chest! I hadn’t heard that before. The slender Roze slammed Navarro face-first into the mat, and she kept Joseline grounded in a headlock. Navarro hit a guillotine leg drop on the ring apron at 5:00 and got a nearfall in the ring. After some more back-and-forth action, Navarro got a rollup for the pin. Basic but fine.
Joseline Navarro defeated Ameera Roze at 6:31.
* Footage aired of the Top Shootahs attacking the Uglee Gang last month.
2. “The Uglee Gang” Jordan Holt and Zay Vega vs. “Top Shootahs” Maurice Moss and Trey Da’Rula in a best-of-three-falls match for the ASE Tag Team Titles. Lea noted that the Top Shootahs started here by coming early and helping set up chairs. He said, “Sometimes it’s good to set up chairs, no matter what your daddy says.” (A shot at Avery Styles without mentioning him by name.) The Top Shootahs attacked from behind, and we’re underway! Jordan Holt (long yellow-and-red pants) brawled with both Shootahs. The Shootahs hit a team fadeaway stunner and pinned Holt at 1:02! Lea stressed how that happened because of the attack from behind.
The match continued without a break, as the Shootahs kept Holt in their corner and worked him over. Zay Vega got in and hit a neckbreaker over his knee for a nearfall at 3:30. Zay hit a top-rope guillotine leg drop and got a pin at 4:49! We’re tied at 1-1! The Top Shootahs hit a team slam on Holt for a nearfall, but Vega made the save. Trey hit a Go To Sleep knee strike on Holt. The Shootahs hit another team slam for a believable nearfall at 7:00, but Zay kicked out. Zay and Moss traded forearm strikes. The champs hit a spin kick-and-Falcon Arrow combo for the pin! The action was fine… but why not just have a one-fall match if it’s only going eight minutes total?
“The Uglee Gang” Jordan Holt and Zay Vega defeated “Top Shootahs” Maurice Moss and Trey Da’Rula in a best-of-three-falls match to retain the ASE Tag Team Titles at 8:13.
3. Tootie Lynn vs. Janai Kai (w/Jordan Blade). Blade beat Kai last month, then those two apparently agreed to work together. Standing switches to open. Tootie recently cut off her long hair and changed up her entire look. I know these two fought on a show I watched from Arkansas a few years ago. They traded kicks, and Kai hit a Dragonscrew Legwhip at 2:30. Cagematch.net shows these two have fought four times, and Tootie is 2-0-1 in singles action.
Kai hit a series of stiff kicks to the spine and got a nearfall at 5:00. Kai threw Lynn into a corner and hit another series of kicks. Tootie fired up and hit a spin kick to the gut. She hit a Helluva Kick, then a running knee to the chin at 6:30. Tootie hit a series of spin kicks to the thighs. They hit stereo spin kicks to the head, and both went down. Tootie threw her to the mat and applied a Fujiwara Armbar, but Kai reached the ropes at 8:30.
Kai hit a hard running knee to the collarbone. She spun Tootie to the mat and cranked backwards on Tootie’s left arm! Kai threw Tootie in the corner and hit a series of roundhouse kicks. Lynn hit some kicks. Lynn went for a second-rope spear, but Kai caught her with a kick and scored the pin. That was really good, hard-hitting action. Kai and Blade helped Tootie to her feet. They all shook hands; Lea wondered if they were forming a new faction.
Janai Kai defeated Tootie Lynn at 9:59.
* Backstage, Cedric Alexander spoke with Dantay Khalifa. Cedric said he feels like he made a mistake, and he berated Dante for “dropping the ball” in recent months. Cedric vowed he was going to put LaBron Kozone away. He told Dante he needs to change and put away Ian Maxwell.
4. Reyhan Inteus (w/The Uglee Gang) vs. Caprice Coleman. Reyhan is tall, maybe 6’2″, and he has a clear overall size advantage. Coleman dove for Reyhan’s leg and tied him up on the mat. Again, Caprice is now 49, but he looks amazing. Caprice backed Inteus into a corner and hit some punches to the ribs. Reyhan swung and wildly missed several times before he finally landed a punch, then a hip toss. He hit a clothesline into the corner on Coleman at 2:30. Reyhan hit a rolling cannonball for a nearfall.
Caprice leapt off the top turnbuckle, but Reyhan caught him with a loud chop to the chest and got a nearfall at 5:30. Caprice caught a leg and targeted it. Reyhan hit a gutwrench powerbomb for a nearfall at 7:00. They got up and traded chops, and the size difference is really startling. That was a LOUD exchange. Caprice got a rollup out of absolutely nowhere for the pin! I had NO sense that was about to end!
Caprice Coleman defeated Reyhan Inteus at 8:37.
* The crowd chanted for Reyhan to “shake his hand.” Reyhan was going to leave, but then he punched and dropped Caprice. The Uglee Gang argued with Inteus. They helped Caprice up, but Caprice hit them! Inteus set up for a chokeslam, but Chayce Coleman (Caprice’s son, probably around age 20) ran in with a chair. Inteus let go of the hold around Caprice’s neck and left the ring. Chayce got on the mic and said he’s “out of the Uglee Gang.” Inteus replied to him, “You were never in.” They made a match for the next show, with father-and-son Coleman to team up!
5. Suge D (w/Alexis Littlefoot) vs. Isaiah Broner (w/Joseline Navarro) for the Pan-Afrikan World Diaspora Wrestling Title. Suge D (Jericho pandemic-era nemesis Pineapple Pete!) won this belt here in June. They immediately traded punches! No feeling-out process here. Lea said, “These two have been at each other’s necks for the last couple of years.” They brawled to the floor. Broner slammed Suge D’s wrist on the ring steps at 2:30, and he stomped on it.
They got back into the ring, and Suge D hit some punches. Broner hit a German Suplex at 4:30. Broner hit a running buttbump in the corner for a nearfall at 6:30. He hit a DDT for a nearfall at 8:00. Suge D hit an Angle Slam. He mounted Broner and hit a series of punches. Isaiah applied a modified Camel Clutch. Alexis Littlefoot threw in the towel, stopping the match! We have a new champion! Lea and Swole agreed Suge D was not going to give up, so Alexis did what she had to do.
Isaiah Broner defeated Suge D to win the Pan-Afrikan World Diaspora Wrestling Title at 9:44.
* The ring announcer was about to introduce the next match, but Treehouse Lee jumped in the ring and took the mic. He noted he faced his brother, Saieve Al Sabah, last month and lost after Saieve cheated. Saieve came out and tried to explain his actions. He said that Treehouse “became weak” and “He cares too much about what these idiots in Charlotte think.” (Boos for that line, of course.) Saieve said they went one-on-one “for the very last time,” and he vowed to never fight Lee again. Instead, he will “bless” Treehouse Lee next month. Lea and Swole wondered what that meant.
6. Cedric Alexander (w/Dontay Khalifah) vs. LaBron Kozone (w/Manny Lo). Cedric stalled in the ropes at the bell. An intense lockup on the mat. They got in a knuckle lock at 1:30, and Cedric tied up the left arm. Kozone applied a modified Octopus Stretch, and he twisted Cedric’s left wrist. Cedric hit some spin kicks to the thigh. Kozone is thicker, and he hit some loud chops, and he tied up Cedric on the mat. Kozone hit a back-body drop at 6:00, and Cedric rolled to the floor to regroup.
Cedric slammed him on the ring apron; Kozone got back in at the nine-count. Cedric stayed in charge and kept Kozone grounded. He hit a backbreaker over his knee for a nearfall at 8:00. He hit another one! Kozone hit a gutwrench suplex, and they were both down at 10:00. Kozone hit a senton and a Michinoku Driver for a nearfall. Cedric hit a uranage on the ring apron. In the ring, Cedric hit a DVD for a nearfall at 11:30. He applied a crossface on the mat and kept Kozone grounded. Kozone finally kipped up and hit an enzuigiri at 13:30.
Cedric hit a German Suplex, so Kozone hit one. Cedric hit another German Suplex, so Kozone hit a rolling Koppo Kick! Khalifa hopped on the apron. Ian Maxwell appeared and pulled Khalifa off the apron. Cedric hit a dive, then Kozone hit a dive! In the ring, Kozone hit a spinebuster for a visual pin at 15:30, but Khalifa pulled the ref from the ring! Khalifa and Maxwell fought in the ring. Kozone hit the Ballgame clothesline on Cedric for a visual pin, but we had no ref! Manny Lo shoved the ref into the ring. Cedric hit a low-blow uppercut on Kozone, then the Lumbar Check for the tainted pin! Really good match.
Cedric Alexander defeated LaBron Kozone at 17:35.
* Alexander got on the mic and said, “I am God around here! I alone rule ASE wrestling, and goddamn I mean it!” Khalifa got on the mic and challenged Ian Maxwell to a match at the third anniversary in December. (Are there no shows between now and then?)
7. Yahya vs. Willie Mack vs. Bojack vs. Calvin Tankman in a four-way for the ASE Men’s Title. Bojack was competing in Philadelphia less than 24 hours ago; that’s a nine-hour drive! There is a LOT of size here. Mack is the slender one of these four! As champ, Yahya came in last, and he immediately charged at Tankman, and they brawled. Lea said there is “1300 pounds of meat” in this match. Mack hit a flying kick to the side of Bojack’s head. Bojack hit a uranage on Mack at 1:30. Yahya set up for a dive, but Calvin reached in and tripped him, and those two again brawled on the floor.
In the ring, Calvin stepped across Yahya’s chest. Bojack got back in and brawled with Tankman, and they traded forearm strikes. Tankman put Yahya in a modified Camel Clutch position and cranked back on Yahya’s chin at 5:30. Lea noted it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit today in Charlotte, and the humidity was making it hard for everyone to breathe. Mack and Tankman traded chops and forearm strikes, and the sweat was really flying off these big guys! “Meat! Meat!” Lea chanted with the blows.
Willie Mack hit a roundhouse kick, then his standing moonsault on Tankman for a nearfall at 7:30. Yahya hit a stunner on Tankman, then a belly-to-belly suplex! Mack hit a slingshot dropkick into the corner onto Yahya at 9:00, then a rolling cannonball! Yahya blocked a standing moonsault, and he hit a stunner on Mack! Bojack hit a Black Hole Slam on Yahya for a nearfall, then a second-rope frog splash for a nearfall, but Tankman hit a Hidden Blade forearm strike on Bojack! Willie hit a splash, and suddenly all four were down at 10:30.
Bojack and Mack got up and traded forearm strikes. Mack hit a European Uppercut. Bojack hit a Bounce that sent Mack flying! “Someone call Monty Brown!” Big Swole shouted. Tankman hit a clothesline on Bojack at 12:30. Yahya hit a dive to the floor onto Bojack! Yahya hit an enzuigiri on Tankman, then a DVD at 14:00! Yahya hit a Swanton Bomb on Tankman for the pin! Those four big guys worked HARD with some stiff blows and good action.
Yahya defeated Calvin Tankman, Bojack, and Willie Mack in a four-way to retain the ASE Men’s Title at 14:21.
* Yahya got on the mic and put over Willie Mack. He said when he started wrestling, everyone compared him to Willie, and he always wanted to wrestle him. He thanked “Willie for everything you’ve done for the business, and what you’ve done for guys who look like us.” Big Swole added, “This is why representation is so important. It matters.” Cedric Alexander came to the ring to confront Yahya. The crowd taunted Cedric with a “Where’s your title?” chant. Cedric responded that he would be X Division champion again very soon. He told Yahya, “The last time we faced, you were tapping out like a bitch.” Cedrick challenged Yahya to a title match on Dec. 6. Yahya agreed, and he vowed to force Cedric to tap out.
8. Charity King vs. Savannah Evans for the ASE Women’s Title. These two have fought a few times now. Evans, a former TNA wrestler, has a big height advantage. This is a rematch from last month, where a wild post-match brawl was almost as long as the match itself. Once they were in the ring, the ring announcer informed them this would be a “falls count anywhere” match. (Some type of stipulation was needed!) They charged at each other at the bell and immediately traded punches! King dove through the ropes onto her; Lea and Swole agreed they hadn’t seen Charity do a dive before. Charity hit a snap suplex on the thin mat at ringside and got a nearfall on the floor at 1:00.
In the ring, Charity hit a sliding clothesline for a nearfall. They traded punches on the ring apron. They brawled back to the floor, and they went over the guardrail at 3:30 and into the crowd! They brawled over to the bar. Savannah got a thin cookie sheet and struck Charity with it; it was so thin that Charity barely felt it enough to sell it. They finally turned up the lights a bit so we could see the brawl better. They returned to ringside at 8:00. Savannah chokeslammed her onto the edge of the ring frame! Ouch!
In the ring, Charity hit a clothesline, then a bottom-rope frog splash for a nearfall at 10:30. Lea wondered if she could have gotten a pin there if she had climbed higher. Savannah hit an Irish Whip. Charity hit a powerbomb for a nearfall. Savannah applied a standing sleeper and fell backwards to the mat. However, Charity was able to flip her body over, push Savannah’s shoulders to the mat, and get the pin! Good brawl.
Charity King defeated Savannah Evans in a falls-count-anywhere match to retain the ASE Women’s Title at 12:58.
* Savannah continued to beat up King after the bell. Evans left the ring. King grabbed the mic and shouted at Savannah, calling her “a big, dumb bitch.” Charity isn’t done with Savannah… she wants her in a last woman standing match!
* The cage was set up for the main event! This is a mesh metal cage, like a yard fence.
9. Darius Carter vs. Billy Dixon in a steel cage. Dixon has been teasing his retirement for a while now, but the commentators assured us, “This is it.” Dixon came to the ring to Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror.” Carter has a permanent sneer across his face. The crew was still fixing the top of the cage, but Carter attacked Dixon! I started the clock as they brawled out the door and to the floor. Lea stressed that we haven’t had a bell yet. (Smart decision for these guys to start brawling while the cage issues were being fixed.)
They brawled over to the entrance stage. Billy grabbed the tall ladder. (It was set up on the floor but could reach the top of the cage!) He climbed it, so Carter climbed the other side. Dixon fell off and went through a table at ringside at 3:00. (I’m no longer convinced there was an issue with the cage, as this was a good spot.) Lea again stressed that we haven’t had a bell yet. Darius threw Dixon into the cage, and Darius locked the door. We got the bell at 4:10 to officially begin! Carter threw Dixon into the cage wall. He hit a dropkick, and he stood over Billy and yelled at him.
Lea said that Carter is 6-2-1 in matches against Dixon. Darius again threw Dixon into the cage wall at 7:00, and he jawed at the fans. Billy sat up, and he was bleeding from his forehead. Someone handed Carter a screwdriver! He jabbed it into Dixon’s forehead! Gross. He slammed Dixon’s head into the cage and he made a cocky one-footed cover for a nearfall at 11:30. Dixon did a slingshot move to flip Carter into the cage. Dixon hit a Cradle Shock slam for a nearfall at 13:30. Carter hit a top-rope Russian leg sweep, and they were both down; Carter finally made a cover for a nearfall at 15:30.
Carter stomped on Dixon’s head and kept Billy grounded. Billy got up and hit some jab punches, so Carter hit a low-blow uppercut at 17:30. Darius immediately tied him in a Figure Four. Billy eventually flipped Carter over to reverse the pressure. Darius switched to a half-crab at 20:00. Dixon hit a stunner for a nearfall. Dixon hit a second-rope flying Thesz Press for a believable nearfall at 22:30. They brawled on the top rope (their chests were visible above the top of the cage),
Darius hit a Jarrett-style Stroke from the top rope to the mat at 24:00, and they were both down. Carter slammed the door shut onto Dixon’s head. Dixon got up, was fired up, and hit some clotheslines! Carter went for another low blow, but this time Dixon blocked it. Dixon hit a low-blow knee lift at 27:00. Dixon hit a Helluva Kick. He hit a top-rope splash for the pin! Good brawl.
Billy Dixon defeated Darius Carter in a steel cage match at 28:19/official time of 24:09.
* Several guys from the back came out and gave Dixon a big ovation. Several guys got in the ring and hugged Dixon. Billy took off his boots and left them in the ring. He drank from a bottle of champagne and was given a flower bouquet.
Final Thoughts: A show well worth checking out. I loved the big-man four-way. Those guys were sweating and tossing each other around and hitting some stiff strikes. Cedric-Kozone was really good for second. While I don’t know the long history of Dixon and Carter, that was a good cage match with a satisfying finish, and a good post-match celebration. Seriously… every wrestler could only hope to have this type of retirement and send-off ceremony.
The Evans-King brawl was entertaining, and I’m not sure how they can top this. The lighting was not good as they fought through the crowd, though. I love the commentary duo of Big Swole and Chris Lea. Swole is hilarious whenever her husband, Cedric Alexander, is on the screen. (She really plays up how much she desires her husband!) That aside, I love her insights into what’s happening in the ring.
Only a few negatives. I think it does tremendous damage to have a best-of-three-falls match that only goes eight minutes. Both teams look bad for having so many pins in such a short period of time. The Treehouse Lee vs. Saieve brother feud hasn’t interested me yet. If you haven’t seen this promotion yet, this would be a good place to start.
