-The Young Bucks vs. Private Party has been officially announced for the October 9 television event in Boston, Massachusetts at Agganis Arena.

-The latest “Being The Elite” video is labeled “Farewell To Independent Wrestling” and can be viewed below or via the Being The Elite Youtube Page.

-AEW announced the signing of Orange Cassidy. There’s a brief clip on him in the latest BTE video.

Powell’s POV: I’m playing a catch up following the busy weekend. Cassidy has been an entertaining act at the independent level, but it remains to be seen how his ironic approach will be received by a national audience. For that matter, there’s no guarantee he’ll actually carry that over to AEW. Cassidy appeared in the Casino Battle Royale and threw some light kicks at Tommy Dreamer, who did not sell the kick and then quickly eliminated him from the match. A clip of that portion of the match can be viewed below the BTE episode or at the B/R Live Youtube Page.

  1. Signing Orange Cassidy just further proves that they don’t get it. He’s a gimmicky tool with no appeal outside of the douchebag Meltzer crowd.

Is it too much to ask for a promotion that focuses on wrestling, without the spot monkey BS and kicking out of 93 finishers per match, instead of one pathetic indie gimmick after another?
