New Japan Pro Wrestling issued the following press release to announce that Will Ospreay would miss Monday’s G1 Tournament event due to injury.

Will Ospreay has suffered a neck injury and will miss action on Monday July 15 in Hokkaido.

Ospreay is not suffering from any skeletal or nervous issues. His status for the next G1 Climax event on Thursday July 18 will be determined after Ospreay undergoes thorough medical evaluation.

We sincerely apologise to fans who were looking forward to seeing Ospreay wrestle, and appreciate your understanding.

Powell’s POV: Ospreay was scheduled for an undercard tag team match on Monday’s show (I’ll have my recap of this event available later today). He is scheduled to face Kota Ibushi on Thursday in a tournament match. Here’s wishing Ospreay the best.
