The following matches are advertised for the NXT Takeover: New York event that will be held on Friday, April 5 in Brooklyn, New York at Barclays Center.

-Johnny Gargano vs. Adam Cole in a best of three falls match for the vacant NXT Championship.

-Shayna Baszler vs. Kairi Sane vs. Bianca Belair vs. Io Shirai in a four-way for the NXT Women’s Championship.

-Velveteen Dream vs. Matt Riddle for the NXT North American Championship.

-Pete Dunne vs. Walter for the WWE UK Championship.

-War Raiders vs. Aleister Black and Ricochet for the NXT Tag Titles.

Powell’s POV: Gargano was scheduled to face Tommaso Ciampa, who vacated the NXT Championship after undergoing neck surgery. Cole won a five-way match on NXT television to earn the other spot in the title match. While it’s a shame that Ciampa is sidelined, it looks like another gem of a Takeover event on paper.
