WWE announced the following first round matches for the World Cup tournament.

-Kurt Angle vs. Rey Mysterio

-Seth Rollins vs. Bobby Lashley

-Jeff Hardy vs. The Miz

-Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton

Powell’s POV: The bracket is split by brands, meaning the winners of the Raw wrestlers will face one another in round two, as will the Smackdown wrestlers. So the only crossover match will be in the finals. The tournament will be held at Friday’s WWE Crown Jewel event.

  1. Its Angle vs Ziggler in the first match. Any predictions?
Rollins should be best in the world but I believe he won’t win.
Mine predictions are Angle over Ziggler; Lashley over Rollins with distraction/interference from Rush or most likely Ambrose; Hardy over Miz; Orton over Mysterio.
Then Angle over Lashley in an upset; Orton over Hardy. Not sure about Angle vs Orton. Do they go all the way with the Angle story?
