Glenn Jacobs declared victory of the Knox County, Tennessee mayoral race on Thursday. Early projections showed that Jacobs had a two-to-one lead over Linda Haney, who declined to comment until all the votes are counted. Read more at KnoxNews.com.

Powell’s POV: Congratulations to Jacobs, who won the Republican nomination by just 23 votes back in May. Once he cleared that hurdle, he was considered a strong favorite to win the mayor battle due to the political leanings of the majority of the voters in the area.
