The following matches are advertised for WWE Backlash, which will be held on May 6 in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center.

-Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe.

-Seth Rollins vs. The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship.

-Jinder Mahal vs. Randy Orton for the U.S. Championship.

Powell’s POV: WWE added the U.S. Championship match on Smackdown when Orton won a Triple Threat to earn the title shot. Reigns vs. Joe match could be for the WWE Universal Championship if Reigns defeats Brock Lesnar at the Greatest Royal Rumble event. All WWE pay-per-view events will be dual brand shows going forward, meaning next week’s Superstar Shakeup should not affect the lineup.
