WWE teased the possibility of Undertaker answering John Cena’s challenge to a WrestleMania match in their advertising for the WrestleMania Kickoff Show. “Will The Undertaker answer John Cena’s challenge?” reads a story. “The WrestleMania Kickoff will feature Superstar guests, exclusive matches and plenty of surprises!” Read more at WWE.com.

Powell’s POV: They preceded this by asking questions that pertain to the actual WrestleMania show, so it’s not like they are specifically teasing that the answer will come on the Kickoff Show. I like that they are asking the question again. Although many fans assume Taker will show up, the last angle on Raw made it seem as if Cena and the broadcast team had given up all hope.

  1. It wouldn’t make a lot sense to put so much hype and promotion for a match that’s been building for weeks on TV if they weren’t going to deliver. It would be bad optics for them.

Undertaker has this mystique and mystery about him where you don’t know if or when he’ll show up, but with Wrestle Mania this Sunday, it makes the most sense for him to show up at the grandest stage and accept Cena’s challenge for a match. It would get a lot more eyes tuning in than possibly on a Raw episode.
