Britannia Wrestling Promotions announced that WWE UK Champion Pete Dunne will no longer be appearing at their “Royally Rumbled” event on Saturday in Prestatyn, North Wales. The promotion cited Dunne’s “contractual obligations to WWE” and noted that the company called him to the United States. Read the official statement at Facebook.com/britanniawrestling. Powell’s POV: Dunne is not advertised for the NXT Takeover: Philadelphia or Royal Rumble pay-per-view, so it remains to be seen what the company will have him do this weekend. Dunne worked a match with Johnny Gargano that was taped prior to NXT Takeover: WarGames and ended up airing on NXT television. Here’s hoping that the company intends to use the talented Dunne more often going forward. Meanwhile, BPW announced that Trent Seven will replace Dunne on their show on Saturday and added that Dunne will appear at a later date.
