WWE statement on LaMelo Ball using inappropriate language on Raw

Fifteen year-old LaMelo Ball used in appropriate language during the Miz TV segment on Monday’s Raw. The Los Angeles Times reports that Ball said, “Beat that” and followed it with a racial slur. In response, WWE issued the following statement to the Los Angeles Times: “The inappropriate language used by a guest during the ‘Miz TV’ segment was not scripted nor reflects WWE’s values.” Read more at LATimes.com.

Powell’s POV: Apparently, LaMelo actually said the word twice. I didn’t hear it live, but thanks to Dot Net reader Robert Perry for pointing it out. I did question if the segment was cut short given what felt like an abrupt ending. Oddly enough, Vince McMahon once used the same word in a scripted segment on WWE television.
