Borash also said new management wanted someone on the broadcast team who is liked by the fans. Mathews defended himself by saying he sat under the Jim Ross learning tree and called WrestleMania. Borash fired back that he is friends with Ross, who thinks Mathews sucks. [Report courtesy of Jacob Cohen]

Powell’s POV: There was a lot of speculation today that Jim Ross would be a big surprise hire. My best guess had been the return of Mike Tenay. Borash is a good in-house addition, as he brought energy to shows in the past.
