NXT Live Event
Indianapolis, Indiana
Report by Dot Net reader Kyle Garner

1. Gran Metalik defeated Noam Dar. Metalik took to the air while Dar kept the technical side of the match going. Metalik got a great reaction and Dar was good about drawing heat from the crowd. Lots of Alicia Fox chants going on directed towards Dar. Metalik defeated Dar with the Metalik Driver.

2. Eric Young, Alexander Wolf, and Big Damo (w/Nikki Cross) defeated Oney Lorcan and Heavy Machinery. Nikki Cross was also at ringside and got involved a ton during the match. Oney got a decent reaction from the crowd. Lots of E.Y. chants. Sanity won when Young hit his wheelbarrow neckbreaker.

3. Ember Moon defeated Mandy Rose. Ember got a good reaction from the crowd. Mandy was pretty impressive during the match and has got a lot of potential. Ember won with her top rope stunner (which is a sight to see live and in person).

4. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defeated the Authors of Pain to retain the NXT Tag Titles. D.I.Y. got a great reaction from the crowd. There were dueling chants of Johnny Wrestling and Psycho Killer. Very hard hitting action with Akam getting a bloody noose from Ciampa’s boot. D.I.Y. hit their finisher for the victory.

Intermission

5. Elias Samson defeated Patrick Clark. Samson got some major heat from the crowd. He did his usual song before hand and I could hardly hear because of the chorus of boos. There were some Broken Matt Hardy “Delete” chants as he sung his song about how bad a city Indianapolis is. Total squash match for Samson.

6. Asuka defeated Nikki Cross and Billie Kay (w/ Peyton Royce) in a Triple Threat to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Asuka actually played the babyface during this match. There were loud “Asuka’s going to kill you” chants, and she was massively over with the crowd. Throughout the match, a future showdown was teased between Asuka and Nikki Cross. I cannot wait until these go at it cause it was awesome to see live. Lots of stiff kicks and forearms between the two women. Asuka won with the Asuka Lock on Billie Kay.

7. Shinsuke Nakamura and Roderick Strong defeated Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe. Everyone in this match was way over with the crowd. Joe came out to a great reaction from the crowd. Roode was welcomed like a god, with the whole building singing his song. It is something amazing to be a part of. Strong got a good reaction as well and then Nakamura blew the house down. Very technical match with Joe and Roode working on Roddy until the hot tag to Nakamura. Roode and Nakamura went at it hard until Nakamura hit the kinshasa for the win.

After the match Roddy left the ring and gave it to Nakamura to send the crowd home happy. This is one of my favorite shows that I have ever been to. It was also the first time having ringside seats to any event so that definitely helped! If you have not been to a NXT live show, you are missing out on a great atmosphere with amazing superstars!
