WWE has announced the release of Santino Marella (a/k/a Anthony Carelli) from his contract via WWE.com.
Powell’s POV: Santino retired from the ring in July 2014 after undergoing multiple neck surgeries. He made some non-wrestling appearances for WWE afterward.
