John Cena “American Grit” review praises the host, feels the concept is derivative

johncena1Variety television critic Brian Lowry was not high on the “American Grit” television show concept, yet he wrote positive things about John Cena as the show’s host. Lowry wrote that the show comes across as a remake of 2001’s “Boot Camp” show, which also aired on FOX. Powell’s POV: The “American Grit” premiere is Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Yes, a John Cena hosted television show is airing opposite WWE Smackdown. Perhaps that explains why WWE did not hype the premiere during Raw last night.
