C.M. Punk will fight Mickey Gall in his first professional fight. The event is expected to take place at the UFC 199 event in June. Gall earned the right to face Punk by defeating Michael Jackson in 45 seconds on Saturday. Gall improved his pro record to 2-0.
Powell’s POV: Punk would like the fight to take place on the UFC 200 event. The UFC 199 slot makes more sense to me given that the company already has a loaded show for UFC 200 and can spread the wealth a bit by having Punk fight on the previous show. Furthermore, they will get a better idea of what type of draw Punk is in MMA if he fights on show where he is one of the main selling points.
