Jerry Lawler noted on Twitter that the Raw broadcast team of Michael Cole, JBL, and Byron Saxton will be calling the Royal Rumble event. Lawler added that he will be on the Royal Rumble Kickoff Show.
Powell’s POV: The recent pay-per-view shows have been called by Cole, JBL, and Lawler. It’s a shame that Mauro Ranallo isn’t calling the show, as one would think that WWE would want their best big match play-by-play voice to be calling their biggest matches on pay-per-view. Ranallo wrote on Twitter that he would be at the Rumble “watching and #commentweeting.” Here’s hoping that it’s just a case of WWE officials letting Ranallo settle in before making the logical switch.
Not gonna be calling it…the Raw announce team will be calling the Rumble. https://t.co/fDutkpeu7J
