Eva Marie says she may return to the main roster soon after requesting her NXT run

WWE Diva Eva Marie spoke with Kenny Herzog of Rolling Stone and was asked about a photo shoot tipping off a main roster return. “I mean, that is the hope,” Eva said. “I can tell you [the photo shoot] was definitely for Fastlane, and that is the goal for sure. I think there needs to be a little bit more of All Red Everything on Raw and SmackDown.”

Eva also claimed that she requested a run in NXT. “I asked to go back to NXT when I really didn’t have to,” she said. “I was already on the main roster, so I could have continued doing what I was doing up there. I never want to do anything mediocre, so I needed to make that personal assessment and ask Vince McMahon and Triple H, ‘Can I go to NXT?’ Because we have the resources, so why wouldn’t I want to capitalize on that? I’ve put in blood, sweat and tears to progress, which is awesome, ’cause look at me now: I’m working a live event tonight. It was definitely one of the scariest – but best – decisions I’ve ever made.” Read the full interview at RollingStone.com.

Powell’s POV: Eva Marie is 31 years old and I don’t believe she’s shown enough improvement to warrant a spot on the main roster as a wrestler. I do believe she has something to offer as a valet, so perhaps WWE would be wise to invest in her in a non-wrestling role rather than hope that she becomes adequate at some point in her 30s. She has something to offer and the fans despise her, but I just don’t believe it’s as a wrestler despite the amount of heat she gets for being so bad. She also spoke about that heat and how she has learned to deal with the negativity and had more to say about her NXT run.
