Bill Goldberg addressed his match with Undertaker that headlined Friday’s WWE Super ShowDown event with the following on Twitter: “Knocked myself out and thought I could finish…. love my fans…..but let u down. Everyone else that found “pleasure” ….. hope ur happy.”
Powell’s POV: Goldberg apparently knocked himself out when he charged Taker, who moved as planned, and then Goldberg crashed into the corner. Goldberg came out of the spot a bloody mess. He seemed okay for a few minutes, but then everything fell apart during the closing minute of the match. The bigger issue at this point is that Goldberg was allowed to finish the match after admittedly knocking himself out. I won’t come down too hard on WWE, as he did seem okay for a few minutes. So if he convinced the person in charge of making the call that he could continue, then I can see how the match would be allowed to move forward even if turned out to be the wrong call.

You can understand it from WWE’s point of view – if most of the wrestlers hit their heads and started wrestling really badly, they would know something is wrong. With Goldberg, it’s hard to tell if he is injured or just suffering from having to do more than 5 minutes of work.
Greedberg should serve as an example that if you can’t perform half as well as you used to, you might as well stay retired as opposed to being paid assloads of money to come back, embarrass yourself and cheapen your legacy.
I wouldn’t have too much of a pop at Goldberg – if someone offered you millions of dollars for five minutes work every couple of years, wouldn’t you take it? It’s the WWE which is embarrassing itself by continuing to throw money at pensioners instead of making stars out of the incredible talent they have.
These Saudi shows are the drizzling shits to be honest. Saudi fans seem to want garbage wrestling featuring past their prime wrestlers from different eras and WWE gives it to them. These shows have but nothing short of bigger budget versions of Heroes of Wrestling. Wrestlers seem to phone it in and don’t give it half their best and seem to be happy just to have a nice paid vacation in an exotic location.
