The Killing of Bruiser Brody edition of the Dark Side of the Ring documentary series delivered 214,000 viewers for Viceland on Wednesday, according to Showbuzzdaily.com. The number was up from the 181,000 viewership count for last week’s Montreal Screwjob piece.
Powell’s POV: A new high for the series, which is a great sign considering that they released the Brody documentary online in the weeks leading up to it airing last night. For that matter, it was the first non-WWE related documentary to air. The remaining shows feature the suspicious death of Gino Hernandez, the Von Erich family tragedies, and the Fabulous Moolah. I want to thank you, Bruiser Brody, Dutch Mantell, and Tony Atlas were but a few of the wrestling greats that I remember growing up. Todays wrestling just isn’t the same. I can’t begin to tell you how much those memories mean to me today. I’m glad I lived when I did so that I saw the greats like Buddy Rogers, and Bruno Samartino. I can go on and on, but the bottom line is a big THANK YOU! for giving so much of yourselves to entertain others. God Bless you all!
Show’s a legit hit. Can’t deny it. Not only did it get that viewership, the rating was a .7 and it landed inside the top 100 cable shows. Impact Wrestling should if they have any brains start calling Viceland and ask them if they want a wrestling show on their network. Combine Dark Side of the Ring followed by Impact Wrestling on a 3 hour block and all of the sudden, Viceland is getting exposure and becoming a popular network.
Abdullah still creeps the living crap out of me.
