AEW Collision – All Out “Tailgate Brawl” Pre-Show

-Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone were on commentary from their ringide desk. Ring announcer Arkady Aura conducted the introductions for the opening match while the entrances took place.
Powell’s POV: The YouTube and pay-per-view channel pre-show is also live from the venue. Renee Paquette is hosting that version of the show with Mick Foley, Jeff Jarrett, and RJ City. They spoke while the entrances were taking place, and then they went to a video package as the match was getting started. In other words, the matches are exclusive to TNT and HBO Max.
1. Jack Perry vs. Katsuyori Shibata. Roughly three minutes in, Perry went to the ropes. Shibata drilled him with a chop to the chest, causing Perry to tumble to the floor before a picture-in-picture break. [C]
Both wrestlers ended up on the apron. Shibata performed a suplex and held on as they rolled to the floor, where Perry reversed it with a suplex of his own. Moments later, Perry went to the ropes and was cut off by Shibata. Perry went for a powerbomb, but Shitba performed a huracanrana.
Shibata stood up and threw a knee that Perry blocked before hooking him in the Snare Trap. Shibata broke free and threw a series of kicks at Perry. Shibata ran the ropes, but Perry popped up and dropkicked him. A short time later, Shibata went for a choke, but Perry rolled onto him and got the three count.
Jack Perry beat Katsuyori Shibata in 9:15.
Afterward, Perry was down on the mat when he looked into a camera and asked, “Where are you, (Samoa) Joe. I just beat your man. Where you at?” Perry got back to his feet and leaned through the ropes and yelled Joe’s name while looking at the stage.
Hook, Anthony Bowens, and Action Andretti walked onto the stage. Perry asked where Joe was. Samoa Joe’s entrance theme played, and he walked past his own men and headed to the ring. Perry smiled.
Joe approached Perry with his hands on his hips. Perry extended his hand. Joe looked at his hand and then at Perry before turning to walk away. Perry spun him around and pushed him before demanding that Joe shake his hand. Joe headbutted Perry, who fell to the mat. Joe exited the ring and left with the other members of The Opps…
A video package spotlighted the ladder match for the AEW Tag Team Titles that will be held on the All Out main card… [C]
Powell’s POV: Joe gave Perry the same treatment that Kurt Angle gave him when Angle debuted on TNA Impact on October 19, 2006. Man, time flies. Anyway, the match was entertaining, but I’m still having a hard time buying Perry in his current role. Only time will tell if Perry facing former world champions will change that.
Julia Hart and Skye Blue made their entrance. Queen Aminata and Mina Shirakawa made separate entrances…
2. Queen Aminata and Mina Shirakawa vs. Skye Blue and Julia Hart. The heels had Shirakawa isolated, heading into an early PIP break. [C] Blue, who wore Chicago-themed gear, and Hart applied simultaneous submission holds. Aminata and Shirakawa broke free and drove Blue and Hart onto the mat.
Aminata had Blue down and ran the ropes, but Hart returned to the ring and awkwardly cut her off. Shirakawa returned. Aminata put Blue down with a neckbreaker. A short time later, Blue kicked Shirakawa, hit the Code Blue, and scored the pin…
Skye Blue and Julia Hart beat Queen Aminata and Mina Shirakawa in 9:55.
Powell’s POV: The heartwarming tale of one of the spooky girls who normally lose actually winning because the show is in her hometown. Meh.
Mick Foley interviewed “Bang Bang Gang” members Jay White, Juice Robinson, Ace Austin, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn on the backstage interview set. Robinson was dressed as a football coach, and White held a football… [C]
